I found this video to be true and valid so I shared it with you all. It has been discussed many times, the PMS Leftists (communists) are taking over the Dem party while pushing away moderates and liberals. I bet many of us here share some of the same opinions on some social issues with the traditional liberals. Probably not things like abortion and taxes but some of the more mundane social issues like making sure kids get a good education and protecting animals from the cruelty of human animals just to use two common examples.
When the argument is over how to interpret the Constitution, the result is civilized politics. When the argument is over whether or not to destroy and replace the Constitution, the result is civil war. Guess which argument we are currently in the midst of?

The problem is "The Left" is a straw man. There is no mainstream movement promoting the below:

1. Raising kids without a gender identity

Who supports this? This is a tiny minority of people.

2. Demonizing White people

Demonizing is a characterization. I don't think anyone is "demonizing" Whites except maybe the Nation of Islam and other fringe groups. But history is full of awful atrocities. Brutally enslaving people, packing them into ships like cattle, throwing the sick overboard, breeding human beings, was an awful part of American history. Should we ignore this?

3. Open borders

No one is arguing for open borders except the fringe.

4. Attacking history of America

All countries have a horrible history. We human being do awful things and was much worse in the past. That's just reality. It's better than living in a delusion of some halcyon idyllic past. The past sucked for women and minorities.


Now if you want to talk about shared goals.

Clean air and water

How is clean air and environment a shared goal? What have Republicans done to promote clean air? The idea that the free market will fix it is absurd when you consider the history of companies dumping waste and polluting the environment.

Why isn't everyone having access to healthcare a shared goal?

That's funny because this is precisely what me(a Liberal) has been saying for quite some time now. The real question what should our goals be? Well, if you know anything about America you should know that's actually a very easy question to answer. Our founding fathers gave us that goal in the Declaration of Independence.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

The Democratic Party is the only one of the two major political parties that are even attempting to align with these goals. In fact, they firmly believe it should be expanded to ensure that all women are treated equally as well.

It is very clear and incontrovertible that the Republican party believes that white Christian men are created superior to all others, and therefore have a special right to control every aspect of our society and that it is them and only them who should have any say whatsoever in her future. They are not deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, but in fact, they are deliberately trying to prevent the will of the majority of Americans from being carried out.

So you seem to have the right idea, but you are on the wrong side of the fight. If you can't argue with a liberal it's because you are attempting to start from the premise that some men are not created equal, and that belief can be rejected out of hand for violating the very axiom that the United States was founded to uphold in the first place.
