Why Don't They Primary Manchin?

That's what McConnell said. He might as well have said "words are legal precedent for acts" and not cared that he looks like a total hypocrite. That's par for the course for him.
Either way, It was 100% legal for McConnell to do that and he certainly was not the first.

I never said it was illegal. I will say that it was despicable, and sets a precedent for no opposing Senate to approve SC appointments ever again. "A year before elections" is a purely arbitrary line and McConnell only said that because somewhere under that shell he has a tiny diseased organ of shame.

Why Don't They Primary Manchin?

Anybody know?
Yes, he'd make a great opponent for "Joe the incompetent one" in 2024. Manchin is actually a moderate who may be able to bring most of the nation together.

Well, the extremely advanced folks in the All Caucasian White Privilege Utopia of West Virginia certainly would never vote for any more liberal candidate, that seat in all likelihood would go to a Republican even if Manchin were to be primaried and that aint happening.

He's seen as a hero there now for protecting the common folk from the evils of Socialist Dentalcare.(y)

Again and again the progressives attack their own party, it's representatives and voters. They don't allow opposing views in the party. Big Tent has collapsed.

No, he has no shame. He said that because he had learned that you can indeed look someone right in the eye and lie to them without shame. McConnell will go down in the history books as one of the key individuals who brought the great American experiment to an end.

If he still had any shame then, it definitely died when he broke his own precedent to hurry in a replacement for Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

I could sort of see that the very bad luck of losing their champion Scalia justified blocking a replacement for a year. But no, they couldn't follow that precedent when Democrats had the very bad luck of losing their champion RBG. Sheer greed, aka "born to rule" Republican arrogance.
