Watching the video I see it differently, by what I see at 2:25 Trump is asked to raise his right hand and does so. Melania is still trying to get in position with the Bibles. At 2.29 he starts speaking his oath. Melania is not in place util 2.32 and at that she is slightly behind him, unlike Vance's wife who was in place beside him and holding the Bibles in easy reach in front on him. I see this as an error on Melania's part. It's a matter of seconds but those few seconds threw everything off.

Back in the day when Obama was president, there were some (including here on this forum) who believed you couldn’t be president (or any other elected position) if you didn’t put your hand on the Bible. Or if you placed your hand on anything but a Bible…which Obama was falsely accused of.

But we know one doesn’t need to do any of that to be sworn in. Indont believe Trump is religious in any real way; I’m fine with that.

I’m just not fine with his bullshit act that he is.

I finally figured it out. Melania was trolling him. She held back just long enough so that he would look too awkward if he attempted to touch the Bible after he had already begun reciting his oath (that he broke). In fact he broke both his wedding vows and his oath of office. And earlier she had trolled him with her wide brimmed hat that prevented him from planting a kiss on her cheek. She very subtly made him look bad. Nice!
