Why Create and Punish An Imperfect Being?

To create a demand for religious tomes, preachers and churches, of course. ;)

Your post’s logical problem is assuming that God created humans instead of the other way around.
No, the question was about Christian theology.

Kids must be beaten into perfection.

No, the question was about Christian theology.

That’s your assumption. Again, that is based on accepting that (at least some) humans were created by a particular (in your case Christian) version of God. The answer to all tricky religious questions is: God works in mysterious ways.

God did it. Ok.

We were created "good". We had the ability not to sin. Then once Adam & Eve sinned, we lost that ability.

And that was our fault...not God's.

That's an awkward sentence.

Practically, we had the ability to not sin as mentioned above.

It's more like the carpenter built the house soundly and then the home-owners can it and cut-out all the supports.
How the hell are the actions of Adam and Eve somehow "my" fault, so I deserve the consequences of it? Are you one of those group-think people who believe we're all one unit, responsible for each other's actions instead of being individuals?

You have said nothing so far.
He's not a serious poster. You could go a hundred posts without him actually taking a real position. He likes wasting people's time.

Like I said you are either disingenuous with your question or you would be unable to comprehend the answer. I belive its the former.

And it's not like the answer would even matter to you since you don't belive in God.
Two more assumptions from you that I will address.

1. I actually DO believe in God. I was merely asking a question for honest discussion, which you clearly are unable to comprehend.

2. You assume that I am either an asshole, or stupid, without actually answering the question and seeing how I respond. You know what they say about assumptions.

The answer to the question is obvious. God is bored, doesn't care or simply did so because he can.

I wonder if the reason we do not teach philosophy in school is because the religious are afraid it will challenge their dogma.

That could very well be true. Remember, all we truly have in any religions discussions and debates is BELIEF. We can believe in God all we want, or not believe in God all we want. We won't know until we are dead.

So, tell me, which am I? Disingenuous, stupid, or asshole?

I think you explicated the paradox that most Christians refuse to even entertain.

Original sin.

I don't even know what you could be referring to...

God knew what would happen and punished humans for his own fault.
God knowing something would happen does not equate with His personal responsibility. People acted of their own free-will. They weren't coerced.

God did or did not create humans? If God created humans knowing they would be flawed then it is a petty and horribly cruel God.
