Where's the Trump healthcare plan Pence talked about?

The only person who said she isn't strong enough to stand up to a tough debater is you.
So you agree with the poster I responded to, that women should be treated differently then a man in debates? He posted: " Doing that when you interrupt a woman or steal her time or always insist on the last word will not play well to the college educated suburban white woman that have already left Trump. This will do nothing to bring them back. "

I missed his words about a woman not being strong enough to a tough debater. They sure aren't in that post you just quoted.

His point is accurate, by the way. I am a college educated suburban woman and I didn't care to see her interrupted either. Now tell me how that translates to "She wasn't strong enough to stand up to an ignorant asshole who kept interrupting her".

I picked Pence, just for technically winning the debate. Harris should have fought harder and stolen time like Pence did.

Regarding Pence's facts or claims about the trump administration's performance - total fiction. I wish Harris had another debate.
Just about every statement Harris made was dishonest or taken out of context for a cheap attack. From Trumps taxes, Charlottesville, Russia, China and the covid time line. That in mind, how anyone could conclude she won the debate or it was close is a mystery to me.

I wasn’t aware of the condescending facial expressions with Harris until well into the debate, I had my eyes closed hoping to fall asleep but picked up on a definite octave change in Harris’s voice. Once viewing again it was clear she was rattled and out of her depth. I also found it a bit annoying that Pence often went over on time, but I did notice the moderator adding that overage to Harris’s time to equal it out. Looking at the stats today it was totally equal within a few seconds.

Both dodged questions, that’s not unusual, but I found Harris did it poorly and with blatant disregard. For me I wanted to see more from Harris, typically it’s just a do no harm exercise with the VP contenders but this isn’t a typical year. We have a President fighting to recover from Covid and a candidate that will be 78 years old on the day he takes office. With that, I have absolutely zero confidence that Joe Biden is capable of the rigorous job of President. I don’t say that as a partisan attack on Joe, anyone that is politically active and has been for decades knows this isn’t the Biden of even the recent past and see’s the saddening cognitive decline.

You are right the state should fund it if it makes so much difference. If not this would be a socialist country

That doesn't make much sense. Funding K-12 doesn't make the country "socialist" and neither will funding some or all of a college degree, or building roads, or funding a military, or buying up land for parks, or paying for police and fire, etc............ It's much more about the 'commons.'

So that is Biden's play we vote for him because we will have a women Vice President.

I don't care about that - I just want the country rid of Trump and his malignant crew. All else is secondary.

Shows how dishonest the anti-Trump grumps have become.... Who in their right mind would actually believe Kamala Harris won the debate?

As I said before, politicians always complete their thoughts and become more vocal when their record is being attacked.
To your point:" Now tell me how that translates to "She wasn't strong enough to stand up to an ignorant asshole who kept interrupting her". Why else should they be treated differently than a man? I didn't bring up the male/female thing. The other poster did.

What if this doesn't happen? What will you do?

I like how the fly and Pence are essentially tied in this poll.

I picked Pence, just for technically winning the debate. Harris should have fought harder and stolen time like Pence did.

I think the opposite. Harris should have been more succinct and direct. Stealing time like Pence did would only serve to reduce the contrast, increase the noise, and legitimize that behavior. She could have made simple, two-sentence, factual rebuttals, and they would have been more impactful. The very definition of a sharp weapon is one where the pressure is distributed over less surface area.

Here is what I would have liked to see:
Susan Page: "...Why is the US death toll, as a percentage of our population, higher than that of almost every other wealthy country? And you have two minutes to respond without interruption."

Mike Pence: "Susan, thank you. And I want to thank...blah blah blah...suspended all travel from China...blah blah blah...more than 115 million tests...blah blah blah....billions of supplies...blah blah blah...started to develop a vaccine...blah blah blah...Operation Warp Speed...blah blah blah...tens of millions of doses...blah blah blah...creating new PPE...blah blah blah...And I think the American people know that this is a president who has put the health-"

Susan Page: "Thank you, Vice President Pence-"

Mike Pence: "…blah blah blah..."

Susan Page: "Thank you, Vice President Pence-"

Mike Pence: "...blah blah blah..."

Susan Page: "Thank you, Vice President Pence. Senator Harris, would you like to respond?"

Kamala Harris: "Absolutely. Whatever steps this administration claims to have taken, the fact remains, as you mentioned, that the US death toll, as a percentage of our population, is higher than that of almost every other wealthy country. The question was 'Why is the US death toll, as a percentage of our population, higher than that of almost every other wealthy country?' And for that, Mr. Vice President you clearly have no answer."

And just leave it at that.

This cultural trend we have where getting the most words in edgewise is more important than expressing a point concisely and efficiently is a poison.

I bet you wrote this post two days ago and waited to post it.

Harris. She was much more upbeat, energetic, and patient. Pence almost always overran his time, interrupted much more often, and looked mostly annoyed.
You must have watched a different debate. About the only accurate thing you said there was that Pence often went overtone. That’s expected in every debate by every participant. As usual, both candidates did it last night.

Unless you are Biden and you cut yourself off.
She looked much more vice presidential.
No way. She looked like she was in over her head. On occasion she looked unprepared. She was clearly unprepared for the court packing issue. She had no answer for the Biden plan for how they would deal with the virus. Her response was “contact tracing”.

Well, I voted for "the fly".

However, both Pence and Harris did exactly what they needed to do. Pence carried on Trump's lies, performed well, and pleased his boss. Harris treaded that line females, especially females of color, have to straddle between being too strong/forceful/aggressive and being labeled a bitch, and maintaining a calm, confident demeanor that showed most voters she was competent and capable of being president, if it came to that.

It was pretty much a tie, IMO. Harris had the advantage going in because Biden's poll numbers have spiked, so her first objective was "do no harm"; Pence's objectives were "don't contradict Trump and control the message."

They both did their jobs well tonight.
So, the facial expressions with the rolling of the eyes, openly laughing and other was just a figment of the imagination? It’s interesting this post try’s to frame an obvious lose on some kind of gender and racial bias. This post doesn’t address why Harris wasn’t chosen as the Democratic presidential candidate. The umlikeabilaity of Harris with being a dishonest chameleon on topics for political diversion and advancement aren’t gender or race exclusive. It also doesn’t address that every rehearsed attack point she made was ether false or taken out of context. Anyone remotely politically savvy could have gotten her talking points off the biased NYT pages or a few hours watching the propaganda on CNN and MSNBC.

Pence won the debate only in the sense that he will slightly improve Trump's ratings. But Kamala certainly showed that she was up to the job.

Some of us aren't impressed by smug, condescending liars who can't answer simple questions about the Trump agenda for a second term, but did manage to faithfully repeat a handful of talking points over and over. YMMV.

If my mileage didn't vary I wouldn't have written what I did above. Did you have a point to make?

Very true. And it surprised me because I've heard Harris in speeches and in the senate during questioning and have always thought she's very good at public speaking etc.
Depending on the situation and setting as well as the agenda, one can speak like "a solo flow in one of Santana's songs".... when that setting and situation comes to timing's perspective... she can certainly "solo well".

This Debate situation was " for her; a public introduction not just to all of America, but people around the world. There were many instances that she could have cut through the crap like a "titanium sickle", but this was not the time for it. It was a time to point to and address factors that assure the American People as well as the Global Community, that she is for Humanity, Decency, Dignity in Manner and Process, and Integrity in valuing what is most important for people, society, governances, and international relations as a member of a team lead by Biden, to bring Civility and move forth with leadership that respects people and the community of life... in building forward in the 21st Century.

The Depth and Expanse of Work That is to be done is tremendous, inclusive of fixing the messes made by Trump and Republican Politicians.... She understand well what is needed and necessary, thus so, she managed her address of subject matter well. She made "Good Music" within her speaking...

If the metric for who won is based upon what people are talking about the next day, the fly won.

The results of the poll are fairly accurate. The best way of understanding that is to compare the result to the poll on Trump's debate.

Simply, this board is heavier for Biden than for Trump by quite a bit but some of those people are honest enough to admit that Pence either won or at least didn't lose. Hence, the result close enough to saying it was a tie.

If my mileage didn't vary I wouldn't have written what I did above. Did you have a point to make?

Yes, we aren't being "dishonest" by calling the debate a draw or win by Harris. We in our "right mind" can legitimately be unimpressed by Pence's lies and ability to faithfully repeat talking points.
