Why is there no white history month? Is it racist to have a black history month but not a white history month?

What would happen during White History Month? All those unknown, untaught years of white history would be put forward?

Democrats just want us to apologize for being white.

We as whites are all evil.

I think we should just have history month. Creating artificial divisions only fuels tribalism and gives trolls ammunition to create stupid polls.

I don’t know what they teach in history class nowadays but when I was in school we learned about the actions of white people in history every day. So I’m not sure what the need would be.

We already have White History Month. It's called April. And July, and September, and January, December, August, June, March, October, May, and November.

We could do the same thing with the actions of black people and obviate the rationale for Black History Month.

Could you explain, please?

I remember learning about quite a few Historical Black Americans in school, also.

As did I and I don't recall the curriculum all being crammed into February either. Black History Month may have outlived its usefulness, just like unions.

I doubt that most white opponents of a white history month really have that thorough of a grasp of white history, or they think that it consists of "whites invaded non-white lands, conquered, enslaved, and colonized the non-whites and are guilty of "systematic racism and oppression."

They would celebrate the great historical achievements of white people.

Is there a reason it would not be ok with you?

In my opinion, that is pretty racist. We are one people and of one history.

I agree with the underlying point of the OP but hate the divisive race baiting frame he put around the subject. The funny thing is that he liked a post in which I called him a troll.

Were you taught about columbus, galileo, ghandi, atilla the hun, jeronimo, sitting bull, king tut?

Perhaps it has. Such a designation serves to further the divisions.

When you find yourself in agreement with a self-identified racist and holocaust denier, who joined the forum at the same time Stormfront was shut down, then perhaps it's time to pause for a second and have another think.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I don't see Black History Month as a subtraction but an addition. Racial history is not a zero-sum game.

Yeah...

And while I think a White History month would be kind of stupid, something more specific, like Irish-American History month or German-American History month, wouldn’t be so bad. Unfortunately do to the effects of the slave trade black Americans can rarely trace their ancestry with that level of specificity.

Black history month is a joke, anyway. Anything that isn't connected to the civil rights movement is ignored. Oh, and George Carver invented peanut butter while he was trying to make a phonograph needle out of a peanut.

Instead of a snide insult, care to debate my post, socialist?

Yeah...

It isn't about being a subtraction or an addition. It is about fueling racial animosity. What positive benefit does having a month dedicated to a particular race provide? All it does is give something for people to complain about and further divide us. I look at it the same way I do the term African-American, I don't see the point of creating unnecessary divisions between us because we are all Americans and need to come together not seperate into silly tribes based on skin pigment and where some ancestor lived centuries ago.

Gee buddy, you don't think the struggle to force the south to actually abide by the constitution, which faced everything up to and including repeated terrorist attacks by white supremacists, is important?
