The Democrats screwed this up, and I mostly blame Pelosi. They should have been more forceful with the Mueller report. This latest debacle would have been icing on the cake. But now they must depend on just this incident unless they uncover something new.

This is pretty bad, but it will not be enough to get the GOP in the Senate to get on board with impeachment.

What the handling shows is his staff recognized the huge problem release of this call would do. It's Trump engaging in open corruption and dragging the AG right into it as a key participant. So it's not how they handled it but the obvious reason WHY they handled it like they did, because it's a devastating phone call.

The testimony that I am hearing from Joseph Macguire today is stunning. He received a whistleblower complaint that alleged criminal wrongdoing on the part of the President of the United States and an active conspiracy on the part of the White House legal counsel to cover it up. His testimony is that he thought it was “prudent” for the first thing he did with it to be taking that complaint to the White House legal counsel to find out if it should be buried. He may have a long and illustrious career but this shockingly poor judgement renders him utterly unsuitable for any kind of leadership role.
