Which of these is true about Bush?

Went AWOL while in the national guard.
Stole the elections from Gore
Stole the elections from Kerry
Lied to get us into Iraq(even though everyone democrats included before Bush was in office said Saddam had WMDS,Saddam has a history of using WMDs, and led everyone to believe he had WMDs).
Lied to get us into Afghanistan
Masterminded or had something to do with 9-11(even though some people claim he is an idiot)
Is a idiot(even though he went to yale,was an office in the military,was governor of Texas and was elected president twice)
Is a dictator
IS a war criminal
None of the above is true



I say none of the above is true. Its all just childish petty **** of sore losers who are upset their candidate didn't win so they resorted to anything they can to try to discredit the president.

An idiot would indicate that Bush was unintelligent. I doubt that anyone, save Warren Harding, could become President if they were unintelligent. Bush does not fit this bill. Easily mislead? Perhaps, but not an idiot.

More like lacking in intelligence compared to the expected amount from a reasonable average person.

I doubt that anyone, save Warren Harding, could become President if they were unintelligent. Bush does not fit this bill. Easily mislead? Perhaps, but not an idiot.

You are using idiot as an absolute across the board description. You could be incredibly book smart and be an idiot with dating, driving, or behaving like one in social interactions.

He couldn't define sovereign without using the word sovereign.

One can be reasonably intelligent in terms of brainpower, but still be an idiot. Bush never asked questions of his advisers, and was too stubborn to change policies until after catastrophes occurred. The one story that stunned me most of all (c. 2002-2003) was that when Colin Powell wanted the president to do something, he actually tried to talk to the president before Cheney and Rumsfeld could because he felt that whoever talked to the president first would be the one whose policy got enacted. If true, that's a truly horrifying prospect.

So yes, Bush has an MBA and was governor and yadayadayada. That doesn't mean he isn't an idiot. He's ran every enterprise he's ever led into the ground.
 
I'm just not terming the word "idiot" in the same way as you folks are. I believe that Bush was mislead by some of his advisers and was naive in believing what he was told. But, to me, these things are not enough to classify him as an idiot.
 
I'd say about 80% of that list is true.

As for him being an 'idot'... I honestly have difficulty with that one... he's one of the following for sure :
a) A dim-wit that couldn't speak without large print cue-cards or rehearsed script.
b) An evil mastermind that was running an 8 year act designed to end confidence in the political system and to allow his successor who comes across as a smarter gentler 'confidence-man'.

"misled" by his advisors??? I doubt it... I'm sure Bush knew that he was a puppet and had no real 'will' of his own to do anything other than precisely what he did...

As for connected to 9-11... whether or not he had direct ties to the events of 9-11, he WITHOUT A DOUBT knew that this was going to happen, how things would be handled, and the agenda that he was going to push once 'the event' took place.

So, was Bush misled (about something he himself did here), or did he lie? Perhaps it was pathological. the fact remains, he said such inaccurate things in the interest of building support for, or defending, the invasion of Iraq. And if he couldn't get the basic facts together himself, when all of the information was there at his fingertips, then he was an idiot. he was spoonfed these inaccuracies, or he willfully mislead. or both. but in this case, was he honestly forgetful? I have a hard time believing it. Bush kicked the inspectors out of Iraq, himself, pre-invasion. Not Saddam.

your blanket ad hom is a non-argument. all of this has nothing to do with me, what I believe, or my leanings.

Bush was mislead. As far as I know, he, himself did not go to Iraq and kick out Saddam. Nor did he, himself, gather the information that led him to make the decision he did. He responded to information he was given.

I stand by my statement. Bush was not an idiot. He was misled.
 


I say that none of the above are whole-truths. Somethings, as the 2000 election are questionable, as the Supreme Court stopped recounts and awarded Bush the Presidency, robbing the country of a true democratic election. As to his idiocy, I think President Bush was a geniunely nice guy who trusted shady people (Rove, Rumsfeld, Cheney) and being a weak leader in the sense of making his own decisions, was led down a bad path. However, I do believe that he had the best interests of the country at heart, even as I hated most of his policies and objectives.

His only sound decisions were to fire Rumsfeld, minimize Cheney in the second term, and enact the surge in Iraq. The surge was needed at the very beginning and came too late in my opinion to have lasting impact, but once again he relied on the new small and quick strike method of military that Rumsfeld designed.

A solid majority of Americans believe that Bush intentionally mislead the nation to get us into Iraq, and I would venture to guess that a solid majority of American believe that Bush was one of the least intelligent presidents we have had. So I don't think that those two would just be in the realm of liberal hacks, that is unless most Americans are liberal hacks.

Too bad their politicians don't.

That said... such beliefs reveal our opponents are...

Such folks are write-offs until some epiphany smacks them upside the head.
Until that happens they merely serve as entertainers.
Gracing us with their comically absurd and naive world views.
 

what's 'comically absurd' is how you could show documents backing up statements regarding Bush and friends, admissions demonstrating their disregard for the constitution and everything that's made america great.... but you're 'written off' untill suffering brain damage (smack in the head) and actually start believing what governments, politicians, and their media servants tell you.
 
I say they all have a kernel of truth.
For example, Bush himself did not steal the election from Gore (2000) but, thousands of votes (of ethnic minorities and low-income residents) were illegally scrubbed in Florida. So, Bush did not steal the election but, key Republicans helped. I don’t know if Bush knew at the time.
 
Yeah I would say some of them are somewhat true, but not 100% clear. I would say those are the 2000 election as already mentioned. The Iraq war it is impossible to tell if he actually lied or if he put forward information which turned out to be false. Him being a war criminal would depend on various factors that I'm unsure of and I think have been made public, for example if he personally approved water boarding.
