"Racism is an industry... If there were no more racism, politicians, activists, and sociology professors would be out of work" - M. Adrian Norman
Methinks Mr. Norman doesnt have a degree in sociology.

There was no racism when I was born in 1979. The first time I found out that America was a racist country was in 1992 which sparked from a man named Rodney King. Then racism disappeared never to be seen again until 2012 when it reappeared due to a man named Treyvon Martin. Then no more racism anymore until 2020.

What do 1992, 2012 and 2020 all have in common? They were all presidential election years where the democratic presidential candidate utilized race as part of their strategy. Will this ever happen again? Yes. In all three instances reinstituting racism was a success. Clinton, Obama and Biden won their bid for president. Racism will never end until it stops working. It is a recipe for a big win.
Lol thats totally why trump got in office 😂

That kind of racism will never go away no matter how many people you arrest.

I think the poll is referring to policies that keep people from other races from having access to the same rights and privileges as all other races. Hurting people's feelings will always take place. Hanging a black guy from a tree for committing a felony instead of letting him have a fair trail is racism. Back in the day black criminals were murdered before getting a trial.

Black men applying for jobs today actually have an advantage. They will get the job right away even if there are three better qualified white applicants applying for the same job. That could be perceived as racism but an acceptable type of racism. Black criminals have the right to trial by jury now. Law abiding black people have better access to jobs and education than there white counter parts. Racism may not be over but racism against black people has been over since the day I was born.

The type of racism that is "mostly inherited from parents" will never go away. There are no laws you could possibly make to end those. That is the kind of racism that is used in presidential politics on occasion. It is an imaginary problem that can never be fixed like the concept of gerrymandering. It can be discussed ad naseum because there is no way to fix soft racism that lives in hearts and minds. There is no way to fix gerrymandering.
Nope. Affirmative action benefits white women more. https://www.forbes.com/sites/janice...ized-for-having-ghetto-names/?sh=339461a050ed
This supposed privilege in employment is largely a myth.

You are correct, sir.

Mr. Norman is a distinguished writer and esteemed political commentator. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in journalism/public relations.

Mr. Norman generally thinks the race card is overplayed and the myopic left is too focused on identity politics.

" . . . Leftist myopia cannot change the fact that many people are working diligently to diminish the pathology of groupthink. . . The future of this country rests on those willing to shake off their mental shackles and pursue a vision of a bright future, not simply hide behind injustices of a dark past." - Adrian Norman

Farcical deflection response..

Not the question at issue. You perceived criticism of racists as an attack on your political viewpoint
LOL. So the only racism is perpetrated by one side and no one on the left is racist at all. Shows you are nothing but a biased partisan.

"Distinguished writers" don't write for the Daily Caller.

Racism was on the wane in the US. The Democrats resurrected it with their identify politics after especially after losses to Bush. For them it isn't about the content of one's character but of the color of one's skin
(or sexuality proclivity). As long as there is value in this division the party of division will be there to exploit it.

Racial quotas are illegal unless you are the federal government. I have heard conflicting reports about what affirmative action actually means. Some people use racial quotas and affirmative action interchangeably.

I just meant that employers are impressed when black males apply for jobs so they hire them fast. I can’t say the same thing for black females.

Which doesnt make a bit of difference to me because he never actually got involved in the field :D

False again. I just disproved this.

Racism will always exist "on some level" but what form does it take?
We all know that we all have slight differences in culture, food, mode of dress, language and accents, values and styles.

"Race-ism" where people are informed and aware of racial and cultural differences but view those the way a chef views flavors and recipes is highly preferable to "racism" where one or more minority groups are viewed as inferior.[/quote]

We do have differences and always will have differences unless we all adopt a single cultural value by consciously removing any historical cultural views from our past. To me race isn't an indicator. A person is a person regardless of their skin color, their weight, their heritage. If all someone sees is a "black man" or a "white man" then it's a problem. I like Morgan Freeman's take on it.

Young people had a handle on this in my generation, then suddenly in 1980 we were subjected to an endless campaign announcing that Reagan's election signals "the end of an era".
Well, maybe people shouldn't have listened to all those "end of an era" pronouncements, because all the old hatred has reasserted itself, and for no good reason.
We just need to start treating people as individuals instead of a color, race, or group. It's really that simple and it starts with us as individuals.

We will never adopt a "single cultural value", which is why I suggested celebrating our little differences instead, hence "flavors".
At the absolute HEIGHT of the Cold War, America fell in love with a Cuban bandleader with a funny accent.
He returned the affection by revolutionizing television production.

I like Morgan Freeman's take on it as well, but I also like the anonymous source who said that one key to reducing these tensions is if all these different groups of people just "be around each other more than we are now".
And from personal firsthand experience growing up in a very diverse neighborhood, I know that worked very well.

Local anecdotes < data.

Are you successful because you are black? Are you a failure because you are black?

Philosophy 1: There are lots of white people that are failures and it isn’t because they are white. It is because they suck ass.

Philosophy 2: There are lots of black people that are failures and it is because they are black. It is never because they suck ass.

If you do not see how Philosohy 1 is a beneficial mindset and Philosophy 2 is a destructive mindset then I see no reason to talk to you. You are determined to destroy the lives of black people just so you can enjoy the luxury of being right. That’s actually extremely gross. You don’t even get money for screwing over an entire race. You just get an ego trip. You are a gross person. I wish all the scum who are violently attacking black people with garbage philosophy would be called out on their bs every time. I think black people are starting to see the massive flaws in this foolishness but that doesn’t silence the ego trippers from speaking this hateful and violent filth.

This isnt about me btw. Empirical data shows this to be false. Philosophy is not a replacement for empirical findings.
P.S. you dont know the experiences of black people so you need to create a narrative which makes you look like a defender of black people. Isnt that called virtue signaling mah dude?

That narrative is called "lived experience" which is touted many times as greater than data. I don't agree with that view but that's how many see life these days especially when it comes to racial intersectionality.

White people can correct their failures because their failures are self imposed.

Black people cannot correct their failures because their failures are externally imposed.

Would you agree?

If so, can you see why a white person would be more likely to rise from an impoverished position and a black person would be more motivated to stay in an impoverished position? If you can fix it the human spirit has the capacity to overcome insurmountable odds. If you can’t fix the problem then it is stupid to even try. People like you know this. I will just never understand black people’s hatred towards black people. Nobody can make me understand it. I don’t understand why you hate black people either.

Im in the it depends camp. Lived experiences often brings to light what aggregated data cannot. We tend to live in a world that overcompensated for the “cannot see the forest for the trees” mindset.

I thought virtue signaling was a no no.

Seems like a simple question: When did racism end in America? Please post and indicate what event(s) were the final causal factors. (The poll is private.)
A better question would have been “when did racist end being the official policy in the United States”. There will always be some form of racism in the US, sadly. We have a body of law against it, but legislating individual feelings and biases is impossible.

I thought virtue signaling was a no no.

My observation is that white people fail because they suck and black people fail because they suck. The white people that acknowledge their failure are more prone to succeed than white people that blame their problems on others. The black people that acknowledge their failure are more prone to succeed than black people that blame their problem on others.

I guess I have to leave it at that. If I am wrong then I am wrong.
