So recently I got this totally killer idea to not only get me the hell out of the backwards, bigoted south, but also to help get to my career goal faster. I've been trying to come up with a way to fund my MBA and all of the sudden my idea came to me. Now, I know what you are thinking. "An MBA? Are you serious, AA? Are you going into hedge funds or something?" Rest assured, I am not going to sell out or anything like that. My reasons for wanting to get an MBA are complex and are another post within itself. So how will I fund my schooling? By attending UNLV and getting into the business of carnal pleasure. Why not? There are plenty of sex workers who rake in nice money and I am a really hot guy to boot.

As I began to research the best places to work or the possibilities of working for myself, I discovered something very strange. The vast majority of brothels and sex workers within Nevada are women that service male customers. The opportunities for men to work with women are few and far in between, and the few that attempt to get into the business seem to fail promptly. Now, there is always the possibility of providing services to gay men. Now, AA likes to support gay rights to spite the religious right but finds gay sex to be gross and out of the question for money making.

So what gives? I know it isn’t considered “lady-like” in sexist America for a woman to express her sexual desires but no one need know if you indulge in a little recreational anthropogenic copulation. So why on Earth don’t women seek out no-strings-attached guilt-free sexual thrills? Do they want the right-wing misogynist view of women as prim and proper sex-disinterested beings to be propagated and furthered? Do they enjoy the stud-slut double standard based on the false belief that it’s easier for women to get sex than men? It doesn’t make any sense.

And on that subject, why are there far fewer opportunities for men to show off their scantily-clad bodies for the viewing pleasure of ogling women? It’s far, far, far more profitable to make and distribute sexy pictures of women than it is men. And once again, women can get subscriptions to Playgirl without the judgment of our sexist society.

It seems when it comes to their own sexual autonomy, women are their own worst enemies.

It could also be that a lot of women really don't feel safe having sex with a stranger, or desire more out of our sexual relationships. I'm just as horny as any guy I know, but sex for me is a vulnerable thing. I need to have a reasonable amount of trust and affection built up with someone to even consider having sex with them. It makes sense in terms of evolution. Sex is relatively low cost for men, in the sense that once it is over, it is over. They don't have to deal with the risk of possibly having a baby. So men who could have and enjoy attachment-free sex spread their genes far and wide. So, on the whole, men have evolved with the capacity for viewing sex as just sex.

Women, on the other hand, have to deal with the risk of pregnancy. It's a much higher risk in terms of survival. So women evolved to be more discriminating in who they choose to have sex with. We evolved to be picky, and we evolved to desire sex with men who would help raise a child. Picture a woman in the Pleistocene. She can either have random sex, risk having a child, have to feed herself and the child, gather resources on her own, etc. Or, she can wait and develop a relationship with a man who indicates that he cares about her, is able and willing to help gather food and resources, etc. and THEN have sex with him. The second woman is probably going to have children who actually survive, so those genes get passed down. Whereas the first woman will have fewer surviving offspring, particularly in more hostile environments.

Any of those reasons seem plausible? Also, if I'm really horny, frankly, I can do a better job of getting myself off than anyone else. So, my incentive to pay for sex is super low.

But if you have some culture, can carry on a decent conversation, make an older lady feel like a princess, you can make a nice living in Sarasota (and doubtless, some other cities). I think his problem was that he was the youngest in his family, with older sisters and a mommy who spoiled him. He had a distorted view of women's "place" in society.
