Constant persecution through the years for unseen reasons.

Kinda crazy and creepy.

People who are deceived and do not adhere to Christian teaching and Biblical theology.

They like spelling things incorrectly?

I like Mormons, my brother's a Mormon, and here lots of Mormons are Pacific Islanders, and they make good food, and I get invited to food because they want to convert me.

you guys EAT them?

I think their prophet was full of it...

There is no evidence supporting anything he ever taught... the battle sites, the places, the ruins of great temples and cities in the Mormon bible can't be located or found. The holy books in all the other major religions can be used to verify ancient battle sites and cities, and learn more about history. In fact, many archeologist use them as guides to locate dig spots.

I also think it's odd they believe Native Americans are cut off from God, however, some of them can still be Christian... I don't understand that. Joesph Smith never said God forgave them, and their skin didn't turn to white again... or brown, whatever, because they were from the Middle East.

But the most damning thing about Joseph Smith and his BS is the Book of Abraham... Since archeologists discovered the Rosette Stone and can actually translate ancient Egyptian now, we know Joseph Smith didn't translate it correctly.... err, god didn't tell him the proper translation. I really don't think God told him how to translate, so I think he is full of it...

There's just a lot of little things in Mormonism like that...

I think youll be further enlightened on the subject if you read it through completely once with an open mind.

You mean today's mainstream Mormons or the fundamentalists?

I have attended Mormon services before to understand them better. While some of there beliefs are not with Mainstream Christianity for the most part they are descent folks that know how to cook.

Fundamentalists.
Cpgrad did you feel anything while you attended?

My opinion on Mormon fundamentalists?

I'm sure I've already posted it somewhere on here, but a quick recap:

I was raised somewhat Mormon and after I did research into it (like finding out who Joseph Smith really was and some of Mormonism's original teachings) deemed it a pretty crazy religion founded by a con-artist that mysteriously changes its doctrine fundamentally every time the mainstream public figures this out.

They are good cooks though.

the consensus so far, mormons can cook.

Catz, can you cook well?

I can cook well and yes im a MORMAN.

I won't argue that they are bad people... but some of their beliefs make no sense, and it's not just the book of mormon. It's the whole way their church is arranged, family is the center... men and women have certain duties.

Hi Rigg, welcome to debate politics! I am a Catholic, but I have always been very impressed with the Church of LDS and the way Mormons practice the teachings of Christ in their own behavior. Mormonism is a wonderful religion.

Theologically speaking, Catholics regard Mormons as similar to other Protestant sects. The Church's position is that both are essentially schismatists. From the Catholic perspective, there is no difference between what Martin Luther or John Calvin did and what Joseph Smith did; oth Mormons and mainstream Protestants have taken Christ's true Catholic Church and altered it with the teachings of (what Catholics consider to be) mortal men. Considering the Mormon view of the prophetic nature of Joseph Smith, the Mormons have good reason for accepting his alterations to the Church.

That being said, there is one difference in the way Catholics regard Mormons, and that is the Church will recognize mainstream Protestant baptisms as valid, but Mormon baptism are not. This is because of a number of doctrinal differences between the Catholic and LDS Churches that render a Mormon baptism fundamentally different from a Catholic baptism.

But, as I said, there is so much to admire about the Mormon religion that it is silly to get bogged down in minor doctrinal differences.

For someone who claims to be a Mormon you certainly have trouble spelling it

The Church of LDS has prolific missionary efforts overseas. It is very possible that Rigg is a Mormon who does not speak English as his first language.

That is very true it may be because im probably the youngest person you will ever meet on this site.Mormons think very highly of Catholics in all respects. They are very wonderful people and are very organized.Im also impressed with the way they carry themselves. Its nice to seeclean people not from my own faith.I thank you for your recognition on this site.
