What is white privilege? [W:355]

Re: What is white privilege?

Being in the UK I might not know as much about the killing of Floyd George as some of you...do we know the copper killed him because he was black or could there be other reasons why he did what he did?

Re: What is white privilege?

No one has pointed out that ecofarm's whole argument rests on there being a massive conspiracy of white people deciding to work together to keep black people down. Nothing is written in law to keep black people down so all us whites must be in a secret kkk that we didn't even know we joined...

I think he calls it a cabal of stormfront bigotry or something similar. Such intellectual brilliance, eh? ;)

Re: What is white privilege?

I think that in the USA illegal migrants contribute to low salaries for certain categories of citizens (including black people), because migrants agree to meager salaries. Only Trump tried to fight illegal immigrants, but no one helps him, on the contrary, many scold him for it.

Re: What is white privilege?

No one called you a racist. I claim, and will always, that to deny white privilege is racist and thus only racists deny white privilege.

I have every right to label a claim, position or argument racist and every right to hold that such a claim, position or argument is held exclusively by racists.

A claim, position or argument that serves to perpetuate white privilege is racist. No excuses.

Uh huh. You've been calling me racist for pages even though I nowhere stated that white privilege didn't exist.

But excusing blacks for crimes is racist as all hell too. Bear in mind this is about black crimes in addition to the alleged crime by the cops present at the arrest. Why hasn't the media explained the arrest of Floyd?

Re: What is white privilege?

Solve this for me. Is this how you have operated for your entire life or much of it? When you see black, do you see inferior?

Some of this reminds me of why whores make up excuses that they do it for the public good of the men. That the wives are not putting out for the men so they must have whores.

I do not see people for their color, I see people for their character, intelligence, and communication skills.

By the same token, I like to study history and know what has happened in the world, both from a historical point of view as well as a cultural point of view.

Culture is a determinant factor. Case in point, in Japan in the past they believed honor is everything and they are willing to kill themselves (harakiri) to protect their honor. In Islamic countries, they believe 72 virgins await them when they die if they have died for a good cause. These are things that are ingrained in them and when dealing with a person of that culture, you need to understand that their believe system is different to ours. In our case, our belief system is Capitalistic where money in many cases is more important than honor, respect, love, and fair play.

Every person you meet, you need to have the cultural background in mind. By the same token, a person from Japanese parents born and raised in the United States, would not always have honor as their primary objective. As such, race, religion, color and even cultural issues are not part of the equation when judging that person.

By the way, the three main objectives in my life are knowledge, respect and love. I see everything in those three angles. Color, race, religion and even culture are not what I use to evaluate anyone. If they are intelligent, caring, communicative, honest, truthful and open to knowledge, they are my kind of people, irregardless of anything else.

Re: What is white privilege?

White privilege was caused by a set of continuing, generational circumstances and the tribal nature of humanity to class separate then dominate for the competition of resources.

Re: What is white privilege?

I want to ask аmericans - and who is more difficult in the USA - for children from white low-income families or children from black low-income families? to which of them does the state provide benefits?

Both. The distinction is income level, not race.

Re: What is white privilege?

While I do not speak for most republicans, I can speak of me as both a former devout Democrat who reformed and now votes only for Republicans. I changed for many reasons. My Avatar shows my starting point in this discussion. I wanted a time for truth so read that awesome book.

FDR was definitely racist and a bigot. And a war monger.

However when you hand gifts to people, they love you for it. And blacks were handed gifts by FDR so they changed to his party.

I stopped voting Democrat when I came to the conclusion that most everything they promised minorities' was racial exploitation and done for their own benefit, to power grab.

If he's an educator it's a bit worrying mate.

I haven't worked out how to like a post...anyone know ?

Your claim is racist. Your support for that claim is racist. You're doing the racist dance: "there ain't none cause ain't done seen none." You might think you're "owning the thread" by constant claims of ignorance but few are impressed.

We get it. You don't know anything. You don't see anything. You don't read any posts. You remain holding the racist position. Good for you.

Notice if you will that we whites did not rush to the streets to commit violence when the white man in Buffalo, NY was shoved to the pavement and injured. We do not operate like that.

Re: What is white privilege?

The only social media I use is Instagram and every one of those things is all over it. I’d be thrilled, though, if you were willing to say you don’t support violence regardless of who it’s from or directed toward or that most cops aren’t racist murderers or that it’s not wrong to like and support this country.

If you're unwilling to provide any support for your straw man, I have no further interest in engaging it. The burden is not upon me to disprove every wild ass rant you go on. You want to make this about me? Sure. Find one post where I said "most cops are racist murderers." There's a search function on these forums. I'll wait.

Re: What is white privilege?

Doesn't matter what reason he had. There was no excuse to let him die like that.

Re: What is white privilege?

Seriously. Why is it so damn important to deny white privilege exists?

This country has been steeped in racism from its inception. There's still rampant racism. That's what all the protests ultimately have to do with now. No matter how bad a working class white person has it, a black person born into the exact same poverty level has it even harder: more dangerous neighborhood, worse education, far more targeted by police, so on and so forth. Disgusting to watch people act like just because they claim they had it hard (on an anonymous message board where personal anecdotes are more than a little suspect...), nobody else could possibly have it harder and it's some kind of offense to them to talk about other people having it harder.

The same people denying racism hold up examples of black people who "pulled themselves up by the bootstraps" as eminently respectable without even seeming to realize that that itself is an affirmation of how much worse it is to be born black in America. That's why you're holding them up as role models. (Well, that, and to create an "I don't have a racist bone in my body" shield).

There is white privilege. There is racism. Denying it only protects it. And of course, the usual suspects cannot address it, so they have to hide behind trolling swill and squawks of "race card! WAAAAAAH!"

Re: What is white privilege?

What special “policies” do police have directed only at minorities?
Examples of Systemic Racism in the US Justice System
Although a politically controversial topic, there are overwhelming facts to support the notion that the US justice system is racist especially looking at the targeting and punishing of African-Americans. Looking at data on police stoppings, shootings, drug arrests, bailing process, legal representation, trial, sentencing, jury selection, freedom, and parole, a trend of biasness appears. On drug use, African-Americans constitute 13% of the population and 14% of drug users, but 37% of drug-related arrests and 56% of inmates of crimes relating to drugs.

In New York, colored people make up 50% of the population but Latinos and Blacks make up over 80% of NYPD stops. In fact, in most US cities, Blacks are thrice likely to be arrested than whites. During a trial, African-Americans are more likely to be in prison as they wait for trial than whites and since most may not afford to hire lawyers, underpaid and undermotivated public defenders are more likely to defend such cases. Data from Alabama also indicates that a higher representation in the jury is white, especially in cases involving death penalty whereas US Sentencing Commission reported that blacks tend to receive 10% longer sentences than whites for the same crime. The US Bureau of Justice and Statistics indicated that 32% (one in three) of blacks, 17% of Latinos, and 6% of whites have a chance of being arrested. With a black-juvenile population of 16%, they represent 28% of arrests and 37% of inmates.
What is Systemic Racism? - WorldAtlas

Now what happens to black families if one parent is removed and jailed on drug possessions? Minor offenses that is.

No one is "excusing blacks for crimes". But, then, you believe Lincoln was the worst President ever.

That my forum friends is why I say over and over, to be a Democrat, you must be intolerant and willing to scream epithets at others. Blame them all for the problems of Democrats. Democrats are the root cause of this problem to begin with and show not one sign they plan to stop being the problem.

Whites have been rioting this entire time. Wtf are you talking about lol

Re: What is white privilege?

It’s a way, currently, to defend the indefensible.

Oppose looting and vandalism? That’s your white privilege.
Like this country, or, at least, fail to hate it? White privilege.
Believe law enforcement to be generally good and necessary? White privilege.

A swing and a miss, what you are giving examples is your submission to authority

When you can put up any post of mine confirming the above nonsense, please do so. You can't and you know you can't. You're simply lying to avoid any semblance of discussion.

Re: What is white privilege?

Nonsense. The only people who ever talk about feeling ashamed of being white are liberals. Beto, Biden and other Dems did a lot of it during the primary campaign.

They're also heavily into shaming white children, their own and others. This is but one example but dozens could be found.

Elite K-8 school teaches white students they’re born racist

That is a link to a $50k /year private school.

Do you really think those lesson plans are prominent in most schools?

FTR, those practices seem over the top BS.

If any president commits massive troops to invade any state, damned right they are on my list as worst presidents. My belief Abe is our worst is based on facts of what he did to earn my scorn.

Put it this way. were Trump to today invade even one state, do you not think I would scorn him?

Re: What is white privilege?

Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanyan left the company and asked to appoint an African in his place. I hope many directors in the United States do the same. I hope the TV hosts do this as well.
