What is a hard truth you think liberals need to hear?

If you believe the bolded, you have no understanding of a great many of your fellow Americans thoughts.

The only reason Trump remained in office is due to the Republican Party protecting him in the Senate.
Yea I saw that with my own eyes, but I also saw the Democrats hem and haw around for a great deal of time discussing if it would be a good idea to try and Impeach Trump in an election season. And when they did (both times) they refused to go after Trump for everything that he did. Still waiting for those public hearings that were conveniently scheduled in May just before the election season kicks off. Makes one wonder if everything was delayed for that reason. The bad optics will only help the traitors on Trump's side.

Democrats are god awful at messaging. When the GOP has rallies it's like a party. Outside my job there is a little Trump rally every Friday that is seemingly organized by private citizens. They gather on the street corner with big signs, flags, music, and yell talking points at the cars from a megaphone. All just by people seemingly so excited by the prospect of a 2024 Trump presidency they are doing unpaid campaign work for him before he has even announced if he is running.

This above was a great exemplification!

Watching DNC candidates speak feels like a power point presentation. Hillary suffered from this a lot. Outside of progressives like Bernie and AOC the only exception I can think of is Obama who did an incredible job at marketing a better future for America.

I very much blame HRC for the loss of 2016, for a plethora of reasons.

She cost us so much, it's ridiculous!

It is getting increasingly unclear what the liberal vision of the future is, with the Democrats seeming taking the 'keep things the same' position and the GOP fighting to move to the right. Biden and the DNC gives little time to all their popular campaign promises, with Biden seemingly happy to leave weed legalization to the states and totally abandoning talks of a $15 minimum wage. Even if they know they can't get something through congress, just talk about something like you believe in it god damn it!

A big problem is the Dems don't appear to fight for us as hard as the Republican's do for Trump & their base.

The Dems did fight leading up to 2020, and we rewarded them with total control of the government. But, where's that fight now?

I generally agree, but disagree with the implication that Liberals is synonymous with demorats. Obama, while a very smooth talking politician, was more Progressive than Liberal. Obama’s constant assertion that “access to” X, required federally subsidizing X, should have been a huge tell. Dependency on federal subsidies (“safety net” handouts?) is about as far from individual liberty as it gets.
Every US politician barring a few members of the GOP is a liberal. I choose to believe Bernie has more personal radical beliefs than our electable, but from an academic standpoint everyone from Joe Biden to Bush is a liberal. For some reason the word liberal lost all academic meaning in the US.

that the embracement of change comes with a bullseye......

being a conservative is easy.....all one has to do is go along with status quo......being a liberal means endorsing and promoting change......and that's hard

liberals win out ultimately because change is the destiny of all men......
Many around the world want to come to the U.S. because it has been known to be one of the better countries in the world - and a country which places a high value on freedom. As long as liberals are intent on taking away choice and personal responsibility - transforming the country into a one size fits all/government mandates model with very high taxes, they won't win ultimately. Why? Because that's never been the American destiny or the American style. Socialism isn't a good fit for America or for Americans.

that liberals (just like conservatives) are more interested in politics than science

how else to explain not backing a repository for spent nuclear fuel assemblies

I'm at a loss as to how a subsidy or benefit can take away one's liberty?

Both liberals and conservatives need to hear that they are spewing hatred. Conservatives do hear that, but liberals need to as well.

Conservatives are possibly the majority, but not to the point of blotting liberals out completely.
By conservative standards of the word liberal, socialists are the majority.

Conservatives also oppose this.

You can't use one instance like this to declare liberals are rejecting science. I can name a dozen topics on which conservatives are far more oppositional to science.

That this isn't the end of history. Rights that were won can be lost if not continuously fought for. Democracy has no inherent systems to prevent an authoritarian from being voted in democratically. Not only can progress be made in the world, but liberal democracy is not the only or best form of social organization.

We live in a world with finite resources; yet we have created a system that requires infinite exponential grown to maintain prosperity. Climate change is coming and scientists are warning we aren't acting nearly enough; yet there is no sign we are going to take major action soon. We have massively increased productivity with one many being able to do the work of hundreds just a few decades ago; yet wages have stagnated. Automation stands to massively increase human productivity; but our systems are organized in such a way that this is an impending economic disaster instead of something to be celebrated. Our cities are organized around shopping malls and Super Walmarts making them unwalkable and destroying community spaces. Our government is building warships that cost $13,000,000,000 each while we have unhoused veterans at home. Social Security is going to run out and there seem to be no plan to prevent it.

All these issues and more have been happening and present for decades. Many of the issues are inherent to the system itself. Neoliberalism is incapable of solving these problems because the problem is Neoliberalism. We won't Build Back Better when LA sinks into the ocean.

A big part of the problem is the ever increasing power and control of the federal government (originally intended to have only a few enumerated powers). That power shift away from state and local government control greatly enhances the ability of the donor class to manipulate a majority of only 535 politicians serving as “our” legislators. While the electorate has some occasional (Election Day) say with 3 of those 535 congress critters, the donor class can (and frequently does) constantly exert influence on any or all of them.

I can respect your opinion here.

But that below is pure hyperbole. I don't know why you'd bring it up, except as a strawman?

Socialism isn't a good fit for America or for Americans.

Agreed, but ask yourself, "Do I want to go to a political rally on Friday night?"

My answer would be no, and I think there lies a significant difference between Trumpers and everyone else.

Well, I share your criticism. Though I suspect we have wildly different solutions. Half of political lobbying is corporations trying to get the government out of their way. And I'm not convinced that state government wouldn't be subject to just as high levels of regulatory capture as the federal government is.

What is a hard truth you think liberals need to hear?

When the Government says "Free" it's not "Free".
People are "NOT EQUAL" .
Government is not your nanny.
The Truth is more important that political correctness.
America is a nation of Freedom, Liberty, and Merit. ( Not a coddling Government)
Every American is "FREE" ! Free to succeed, and Free to Fail !
It is Fascism to Force good, mature, hard working, people to be responsible for people who can not take care of themselves !
It is GREED to want to take Others hard earned money.
Democracy is ultimately bad ,and that's why American is a "Constitutional Republic"!
The Democrats started the KKK, and are the most racist party even today(Everything they do is because they think minorities can't do for themselves)
There are only 2 sexes, and a few possible biological disorders/mutations, that only affect > 10% of the Population.
Christians are really good, that's why liberals, and non-Christians want to live in societies that Christians created.
White Americans are the least Racist people over all!
Trump actually did a good job as President!
And you have to be dumb as rocks, or abjectly lie to yourself to believe the crap the DEM's push on you.

Liberal- "We can make this better!"
Conservative- "I liked it the way it was before!"
Lots of truth in this. But many a conservative views the liberal version of "better" as worse rather than better. And I'll go one step further and say I expect November will show us Independents are also not feeling like the liberal version is "better" - and that the last year has made them uncomfortable enough to want to move away from it. I think many were thinking what Joe Biden would offer would be very little change and just a moderate middle of the road approach - and have instead been shocked.

How do you manage to keep writing walls of nonsense where absolutely nothing is true?

That it’s ok to disagree

Disagree with what?

Conservatives were telling everyone they are the party of family values, fiscal conservatism, standing up to tyrants and dictators abroad, protecting human rights, freedom of speech and press, etc, etc...

Those were "core values", remember?

But then Trump came along, and... what happened? All that went right out the window. Is it because the party has changed? No. Parties don't change in a year. It's because those were never the real core values of the Republican party. That's what some Republicans thought too, including this former GOP political strategist. But, he realized, that's not what it was really all about at all. It's just that Trump came along and "said it like it is" and made it obvious what it's really been all about all along.

the point I was trying to make is elected leadership on both side of the political spectrum ignore the science when it comes to tough choices

said another way when the root cause of the problem means telling partisan political supporters sacrifices need to be made,... what happens more often than not is the can is kicked down the road (which is akin to implementing a feel good gesture)

for example when it comes to the issue of man made climate change, there are feel good gestures like a program to plant a few token trees,... this is akin to window dressing or rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic (given what science has uncovered)
