Because the pilot or other flight crew says so is enough. Maybe they don't like their hair. You can't argue about it on the plane, take it to customer service.

It's a Federal law. I doubt Air Canada wants to be in the same boat as that Sunwing flight.
 
The Canadians could have had the best of everything. American technology, British tradition. and French cuisine. Instead, they chose French technology, American tradition, and British food.

It's the only Canadian joke I know. It is similar to my Argentine joke.

What is an Argentine? An Italian who speaks Spanish and thinks they are British.
 
Just as an aside I suspect that @Moi621 is a sock created just to mess with Canadians.

Since he does so with impunity it's probably a staff member.
