That sounds a bit paranoid. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that most people don't care if you are hear or not. I know I don't really care.

You give us far too much credit in what we are trying to do. We are just messing with you.

Flowers: Getting men laid since the Garden of Eden.
Strange but true.

Flowers are expensive, but no matter how much a woman says "you shouldn't have", it is always appreciated. If it isn't, time to find a new girlfriend.

I think it is a custom in our society to show flattery with flowers. It is always a great to give them on the first date, first impressions are everything.

Memo to westboro: GOD HATES STRAIGHTS!

“The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision.”

So, the girl I am seeing had her orientation for graduate school yesterday and since she is in DC and I am in SC, I sent her flowers as a gift. A friend of mine said how surprised she was that I sent the flowers because the situation, to her, did not really warrant it. My response was, I knew my girlfriend was nervous and since I couldn't be there in person I wanted to do something that let her know I was there for her. My friend and I discussed it for a bit, and she kept saying how uncommon and rare my actions were. So, have any of you sent something to some one you cared about because of a first, like grad school, or some other event in their lives that you could not be there personally for?

Everyone has their own style. That goes for you and the girl you're dating.

My experience has been that most women appreciate such a gesture, especially the ones that have a fondness for flowers. Just be careful not to overdo it with a woman you don't really know that well. It could come off as creepy.

Flowers for Orientation Day are not a customary requirement. Flowers (or some other sentimental gift) are required for Graduation Day.

I like surprising my close friends and loved ones all the time, even with small tokens. It's always heart warming to know you are loved, supported, and appreciated. I know I've had some rough days that have been turned around completely by really kind acts.

I say pay it forward. :)

Yes. And you, hon, are a very caring, generous and wise person.

I've even sent little presents via mail to online friends, just because. And I have received the same in return, out of the blue. Talk about a Feel Good moment.:)
