I would like for some of our liberal posters to list the 5 top things that they want. No rhetoric or talking points. Just list the 5 things that you want to see changed in the USA.

statements like "living wage" and "fairness" are not acceptable.

less rich people, more gay people, more black people, unions in every industry, and to kick Texas's ass if they decide to secede.

Reformed health care
Nationalised resources
Higher taxes
Lower military spending
Improved wages for public servants (i.e. Police, Teachers, Nurses, Federal Office Workers, etc.)

This is for the US, here in Canada, we really only need the Nationalised resources part.

have you considered relocating to north korea. they have everything you want.

Why did you start this thread? You asked a question and then when you are given a genuine answer, your only response is a dismissive, snarky answer?

Decent healthcare, low military spending and decent wages for public servants are non-existant in North Korea. As well, I don't fancy living in a totalitarian regime. I like democracy, infact I love it, contrary to your assumtion. Not very many socialists like the totalitarian ideals.

To make a suggestion, may you want to move to Somalia? They have all you want, low taxes, little government control and they despise the gays. Sounds like a conservative paradise.

How exactly do liberals intend to create more gay people? Just curious.....

1) Ending allocation of House seats via single-member districts that are gerrymandered by state legislatures and instead allocating House seats to states via a party proportional method.

2) Using the instant run-off voting method to elect Senators in order to both allow multiple parties to be elected to the Senate and ensure that moderates are the candidates elected.

3) Instituting a method of referendum on the federal level so that the people may express their 10th Amendment rights to enact the powers the Constitution provides to them.

4) Reforming our primary elections so that they are more fair and representative to the demographics of our nation.

5) Reforming our Presidential elections to a two-round system to allow for multiple parties to be elected.

6) Comprising a method that ensures a multi-party executive branch that is representative of the people.

Please. How many all white Country Clubs are there in Somalia?

Indoctrinating them from a young age by distributing condoms in Kindergarten classes.

I would like to see our national education improved to the degree that people understood that liberal describes a political ideology rather than an identity. What, with the number of unintelligent people who label themselves as "conservative" who view politics as if it were little more than a game of cowboys and indians, and the number of unintelligent people who label themselves "liberal" who advance views that are anything but, it seems the entire discussion is usually left to the lowest common denominator.

I think this is a list of things most ANYONE wants, if they but think about it. Which is good, but not what the OP was after, I don't think. This looks more like a third party list of demands.

If the question asked was what are the top 5 things conservatives want and someone said more white people the rest of that thread would be about what a racist that person was.So StillBallin, why do you hate white people and why are you such a racist?

When exactly did you have your sense of humor removed, and did Obamacare cover it?

Third person to take stillballin seriously...

sawyerlogginon the better question is why are you so gullible?

Which isn't a truthful answer anyway, forget the snarkiness.

Desired Goals
Single-payer healthcare

Free University education for those who qualify - with a requirement for six years service to the nation following graduation, whether military or something like the Peace Corps or other government job.

Lower military spending - say down to a level equal to that of only the next ten nations total spending. At this time, the US makes up 45.7% of military expenditures spent by all the nations of the world, a total that is more than 5 times larger than the combined military funding of Russian and China.

Increased minimum wages - with level dependant upon cost of living where the worker resides

Government control of basic utilities - water, sewage, electricity, necessary oil or gas for heating of homes, public transportation

Stricter (and enforced) regulation of the financial services industry

Enforced taxation of American corporations - if they are making a profit in other nations, they still pay US rates. Moving 'headquarters' to other nations would require all of the top executives to live in that nation, with no more than 90 days to be spent in the US in any calendar year.

Liberal =/= Democrat.

These may be things that liberals want - as well as libertarians, and socialists, and paleoconservatives.

But that doesn't mean they are what Democrats or Republicans want.

~make it illegal for anyone other than registered voters to be able to make (capped) campaign contributions
~eliminate victimless crimes
~return our military to our own shores (thereby reducing its budget)
~provide universal single payer healthcare
~simplify the tax code such that there are no allowed deductions while retaining progressive tax rates

Third person to take stillballin seriously...

sawyerlogginon the better question is why are you so gullible?

I think he is being serious, it is his innermost feelings hiding behind the facade of humor. The "it was just a joke" defense is widely used by people on both sides who slip up and let their true feelings out.

Here's one for you, I think this country would be better off if half the libs got sick and died, just a joke. :)

You truly are a monument to ignorance.

Taking SB seriously is almost as big of a mistake as taking me seriously.
