Let's see, Trump wants to spend nearly a Trillion Dollars on the military, deportation forces, and border security, all at the expense of most everything else. Clean air? Clean water? Public Education? Healthcare? Science? The Arts? Cut, cut, cut.

Here's what Trump's budget proposes to cut - CNNPolitics.com

What is that military and border security defending exactly--the rights and wealth of rich people and corporations to rape this country for profit?

Well, count me out. I'll never support this nonsense. Trump cannot fail fast enough.

How much Federal income tax did you pay last year? Just wondering how much we're going to have to cut back. ;)

It's unfortunate that an already well funded (if not always efficiently managed) military and unnecessary border security measures continue to take precedence over education and scientific research.

Those things ain't important!

Probably not enough to pay for a cruise missile but more than enough to fund a second grade classroom.

It may seem odd to you but the things he wants to spend money on are actually two things specifically enumerated in the Constitution as being a function of the federal government. The other stuff you mentioned isn't enumerated in the Constitution.

Yeah, I figured one of you would chime in with that crap. Well, IMO, we should tear up that piece of paper if it means we spend our resources to protect corporate interests while our poor and meek go hungry and without heat, education, clean air or water.

I've been singing Country Joe most of afternoon because of this thread.

The pendulum swings to defense when a Republican is in office because more of the GOP gets their griff there. Democrats get more griff on social programs so they rend to get more when they hold office.

Would be great if they could find happy medium and screw us over a little less.

Only........he's not failing.

He appears to be having fun.

Kinda of understand your point, but would you also tear up the part that allows you to vent without fear?

No problem.

We're eliminating second and going from first to third and from third to fifth, etc.

Gonna save a ton of money.

Yep. That attitude is pretty much there will always be people like me who oppose people like you.

See, public education and social safety nets are supposed to be functions of the individual states, not the federal government. Most of us Conservatives aren't opposed to helping out needy folks. We're just opposed to legislating that help from the top down.

Luther you probably more than any other here know I wasn't a Trump cheerleader. But every week he does something or the people he chose in his cabinet etc. have made great efforts to fulfill what he said he was going to do. His OMB Director Mulvaney made a home run in my book at the WH presser. And yes I did notice the things he wants to increase spending are actually related to his responsibilities as president under the Constitution.

So we're all scum because we don't pay as much in taxes as rich people pay. Yes, that is the message in your post. If it isn't then I would seriously advise that you reconsider your choice of words.

You don't think that day is already here? I suspect a record number of journalists will be audited by the IRS this year.

What?? Don't be silly. If you want to fight, there are plenty of posts you can bash. This isn't one of them.

You mean like global warming and common core?

The 101st Airborne can't field a single full strength brigade and they used civilian mechanics when they deployed, but lets spend hundreds of billions on illegal alien, fake global warming research and common core

Reliance on civilians is a growing pattern within the entire army, not just the 101st. There are civilian contractors walking around my motor pool all the time, usually earning close to six figures, and teach us random crap that for some reason wasn't in our curriculum in AIT. The problem isn't the total budget, the problem is the armed forces are terrible at managing their own finances. For the most powerful military force in the world, there is a stunning amount of incompetence in our leadership when it comes to our strategic outlook and management.

I'm talking about entire wrench sections, while the wrench sections organic to the division were left stateside. I'm not talking about consultants. When I was in the service, we had reps from Bell Helicopter and FMC poking around almost constantly. But, when we deployed, we never left our machanics behind

And why were they left behind? It wasn't because of budget cuts, it was because of troop limitations for deployments to Afghanistan. That isn't a budgetary issue, that's an operational and political issue.

What troop limitations? That doesn't make sense.
