I post this because the current political climate reminds me of this flyer, 5,000 of which were distributed in Dallas two days before President Kennedy's visit 11/22/63.

Today, for the first time in a long time, I said a prayer for the safety of our President.

Anyone who is serious about injuring or assassinating Obama is an outright moron.

Who do we get next? Biden. After him? Nancy Pelosi.

We should all pray for the safety of our President.

I have thought the same thing.. those 2 do make a good insurance policy for Obama.

Had a fight with a friend recently about Kennedy. To summarize my argument; he's only popular today because of his death. For the sake of his legacy, he's lucky he didnt have the chance to finish out his presidency.

Better to die a hero than live long enough to prove yourself a fool.

There was identical stuff to this going on during the Bush Administration, and it didn't amount to any violence or assassination attempts. It was no less loony than what's going on now.

Besides, JFK was shot by a Marxist who tried to sell the US out to the Soviets.

An attempt on the president's life should be an automatic death sentence, to be carried out immediately upon conviction. It's a damn shame that John Hinkley gets weekends off. Squeaky Fromme should have fried a long time ago, but instead, she's free as a bird.

Haven't you heard? Oswald was an Israeli, working for Mossad.

Yes because the left never distributed similarly outrageous & inflamatory literature about GWB. It's only those violent, ignorant, racist conservatives who pose any threats to our leaders.

I could handle Biden. I think he is a good person, and he certainley has better credentials to lead the nation than what Obama had. Particularly in the area of foreign relations.

I'm trying to remember some of the names of the leftist writers who urged armed revolution against the government starting around 2003.

Kudos to you, bhkad, and my respect for you just shot up through the roof. It is one thing to bash a president you don't like, but it is quite another to pray for his safety, even though he represents EVERYTHING that you are against. No matter who the president is, whether Bush, Obama, or anybody else, he is still our president.

Well done, and you get a beer from me for your post. :)

I don't know about that. I think the first time Biden opens his mouth as president, all hell would break loose in the world. He is a complete idiot. Just call him the Democrat version of Dan Quayle. LOL.

I think that politicians should always be afraid of violence being committed against them.
I want them to remember that their irresponsible actions have consequences.

Playing kissy kissy, nice nice with people who don't really care about you or your property is a loosing proposition.

Be that as it may, you really want the possibility of Pelosi assuming the presidency? That gives me nightmares.

Frankly, it's bad enough she even made it into Congress in the first place.

Don't forget the Dems have a former Klansman sitting third in line :2wave:

If anyone looks at the legislation that was passed by President Johnson after President Kennedy’s assassination one could wonder if some of it could have been passed if he wasn’t assassinated.

In other words, a lot of it was passed because of the thought that if anyone that was against the legislation would be frowned upon, plus Johnson was a real arm twister and he knew where a lot of bones were buried.

Although, if you believe Oswald shot JFK, his attempted assassination of ultra right wing former General Edwin Walker, proves a wacko like Oswald will go after anyone, no matter what their ideology or consequences.

A nut job wouldn't care about Biden or Pelosi being in line for the presidency.

He's as crazy in foreign relations as he is just plain crazy. He wanted to divide Iraq into 3 partitions... never mind that the Iraqis themselves are almost unanimously against that.

Facebook poll asking if Obama should be assassinated

A poll posted on the social networking site Facebook asking if President Obama should be assassinated has prompted a Secret Service investigation.

The Huffington Post has a screen shot of the poll. It asks, "should obama be killed?" The possible answers are "yes," "maybe," "if he cuts my health care" and "no."

"We are aware of it and we will take the appropriate investigative steps," Secret Service Darrin Blackford told the Associated Press. "We take of these things seriously."

The death of a president is always a martydom.

I don't think it was quite that unanimous:

Iraqi President Jalal Talabani endorsed a plan gaining support in the U.S. Congress to divide Iraq along ethnic lines into three separate regions under a limited central government.

Talabani, a Kurd, said a so-called soft partition of Iraq would prevent civil war among the country's Shiite and Sunni Muslims and Kurds.

The U.S. Senate voted 75-23 in favor of a non-binding resolution supporting establishment of such a federal system in Iraq. The idea has been championed by Democratic Senator Joseph Biden of Delaware and the resolution, approved Sept. 26, was co- sponsored by Republican Senator Sam Brownback of Kansas.
