[W:549] Nfl 2018

They probably hoped that with age would come better decision making.

I don;t know enough about Eli. But, from my vantage point, he is not a poor decision maker. He is just not very accurate. And, that certainly will not improve at this stage in his career.

He's never, ever been accurate. Which is why even in his prime he was never a great QB, just good. Now that he is older, he's less accurate, and he's also completely immobile now. I'm not defending the Giants O-line, but Eli doesn't help them out at all. The defense knows exactly where he is going to be on every passing situation. He does not roll out, he's a stationary target back there.

I believe a good front seven and an elite pass rush will cover up for any weakness in the secondary. With Khalil Mack in the mix and as long as Akiem Hicks doesnt get himself thrown out of the game again, I think the Bears defense is in pretty good shape.

It should be automatic that two teams off of byes play the next Thursday. Three days rest is Not Enough. I’d like two byes.

Quite the good weather we’ve been getting. October is such a great sports month at all levels, especially MLB, NFL, NCAAF, etc.

NE in 20 days at home will be a rude awakening with Brady studying that GB tape. That follows the Bears at Miami, never an easy trip. So, let’s enjoy the bye week and study the AL East, our next 4 games.

So just how bad does it suck playing for the Seahawks?

Maybe their front office is just committed to the 'hardball' approach to player contracts, but they cant keep Marshawn Lynch happy? They cant keep Richard Sherman happy? And now this?

Earl ****ed himself over. It could be much worse. He could be a donkey.

The Seahawks were right in not signing Earl Thomas. They obviously made a mistake by not trading him to the Cowboys for a 2nd round pick.

The Seahawks breakdown can be pinpointed to when they lost the Super Bowl.

100% true. The players saw the organization act in a way that called into question their purported values and rhetoric... which lead to a slow collapse of trust and esprit de corp on the team. It's been a really slow crash and burn and hard to watch. You can see the way the players have reacted to and treated each-other get more toxic. it's a parallel of a situation I've seen at work.

I've been hoping to get a complete rebuild going before now, but we will see how it goes.

They had a chance to just feed Marshawn Lynch the ball but tried to make Russell Wilson a hero (which he is not).

Seahawks should have traded Richard Sherman a year earlier - they get nothing back
Seahawks should have traded Kam Chancellor a year or two earlier - he retired
Seahawks should have traded Earl Thomas, they get nothing back

He's an athlete. No more no less.

Yours a is typical false narrative from a hater.. Just a stupid call. And a great play by Butler. Give him some cred.

Wow look at you Mr. 20-20.

Wow you're really smart.

The Colts are the only team I TRULY love watching get beat.

Man, we're on the same boat! Little gives me more pleasure than seeing the Colts falter. I hate the Patriots, and almost never root for them, but today I am on their side, because I love to see the so-called God's Gift to Quarterbacking being the eternal underachiever.

Here is what the Colts are:

Some games Andrew Luck is possessed by fire and breaks all the records, plays perfectly, but the other Colts players still manage to lose the game.
Some games the other players play decently and the team could have won, but then Andrew Luck sucks and becomes a turnover machine.

One way or the other, the end result is that the Colts lose.

LOL

For me its not that nuanced. I'm just disgusted by that whiny bitch coach and owner getting their ass kicked by 40+ points and giving up over 300 yards on the ground whining about improperly inflated footballs...especially when the league has known about over and underinflated footballs for years (and in fact it is why the teams are allowed to control their own footballs). Oh...and the QB that pressed for the change to allow teams to control their own footballs? Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts.

Wow, I didn't know that about Peyton Manning! Yep, the whole whining about PSI in footballs is another reason to despise the Colts. Again, although I hate the Patriots, I never bought the idea of Deflategate.

Aaron Rodgers has been open...he has large hands and prefers his balls OVER inflated. Lots of QBs and former QBs talked openly about it.

I used to like the Colts when the Big three...Manning, Harrison, and James were on the field. Not a fan...but liked them. Now...nah.

Everyone claims to have big hands and balls, NFL QB or not.

Credit to the Colts for actually making a game of it. Better than just watching the Pats curbstomp them.

That being said, looks like Pats are back to form. That defense still needs work tho.

I love Marshawn that man plays football like its ment to be played. Did you see last weeks game. Beastmode came to play. He was the offence of parts of that game. Its gona be fun once the rest of that group starts clicking.

As to your quote, its become moneyball in the NFL. The Raiders got rid of Mack, we couldn't really afford him and he wasn't gona play for us, so we get what we can and move on. Mack is worth money, and to the Bears he is worth what they payed, but he wasn't worth that to the Raiders. Which makes sense when you think about it. He solidifies and improves dramatically an already very good defense, and on the Bears he is worth probabley 3 wins maybe four. On the Raiders he is worth 3 wins at most because they are just not as good and he cant bring them up as much as he can the Bears, because we have too many needs on D. Mack improves dramatically a good group of players, the better they are the more effective he is. The Raiders D is just not that good right now. They have flashes but they are a year or two and a couple of drafts, before being a good group. I think Gruden sees how Belicheck has built perennial winning teams and he is trying to emulate it in his own fashion. As much as he wanted to keep a Hall of Fame defensive end, he realized the money would be better spent on building a better core group of players.

Cant help but think Josh Gordon is nothing but thrilled to be playing for the Patriots. He got his first Brady TD...2 big offensive showings...and with Edelman back they ahve a deep, an under, 2 solid mids, and a Gronk. And Sony Michel is looking very solid as well.

But that D though...still needs some work.

James White has been impressive as well, no rushing yards but a very effective receiver out of the backfield.

Remember the Patriots traded a late 5th round pick for Josh.

Like taking candy from a baby. Too easy.

Wait until he misses a meeting or no-shows a practice.

If the Pats can avoid that, then they earned what they got. No one in the NFL wanted to touch this guy.
