[W:40] Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh dies after battle with lung cancer

This is a public, anonymous political board. Is there some unwritten rule about not "addressing" people that are dead?
It's an optional social rule to conduct yourself with class by addressing people who can respond and not speaking I'll of the dead. You do you, but as for me I'm not grave dancing. There are plenty of classless people on the forum you can bash on Limbaugh with.

my definition of a terrible human being...not a guy who says mean things about liberals-=or conservatives
Let's extrapolate to someone like Goebbels. After all, he only said "mean things about" Jews.

Would you still say that?

Was Rush Limbaugh advocating genocide against people?

I was quoting Turtle and used a historical example to point the link between toxic poliitcal rhetoric and violence. Rush didnt advocate genocide but this does not mean that his vitriolic propaganda did not have real life consequences that harmed people of other races.

my definition of a terrible human being

rapists
murderers
child pornographers
animal abusers
robbers
hackers
sadistic cops
war criminals
scam artists
arsonists

What about a guy that celebrates the deaths of AIDS victims?

What about a guy that celebrates the deaths of AIDS victims?

"celebrates"? I think some people were less than charitable to those who died of AIDS after getting it from reckless unprotected promiscuous sex-I do recall that Limbaugh mourned the death of Arthur Ashe and Kimberly Bergalis-the dental patient who was deliberately infected by her homosexual dentist who wanted others to suffer AIDS. IIRC Rush was rather brutal concerning Dr Acher (IIRC) and his lethal hissy fit that killed this young woman

Take a cross section of this thread. Listen to people when they are telling you who they are.

All Rush did for a living is talk. The hatred seems way out of proportion.

The world is now a slightly better place. There are people worth mourning when they pass, Rush wasn't one of them. All of you claiming that the left are mindless haters are projecting. There are too many reasons to list why I despise this man and his legacy. His words have caused so much hate, unrest and division. I will say that I am happy he is gone and wish it would have happened sooner. I don't care if you think that makes me disrespectful or cruel; I could never reach the level he did in those categories.

I won't give him respect when he denied it to so many others.

I won't be shamed into not stating my glee that this cancer on society is gone.

Yes I hate him, because he did so much to earn that hatred.

His words have hurt so many and were responsible for a number of deaths. True, indirectly, but still relevant. Words have power and he has misused and abused that power to the detriment of the entire country.

I have nothing good to say about him, but I refuse to hold my tongue. Good riddance, like I said at the beginning, the world is better off without you.

womp womp

Rush Limbaugh, the talk radio host who ripped into liberals and laid waste to political correctness with a gleeful malice that made him one of the most powerful voices in politics, influencing the rightward push of American conservatism and the rise of Donald Trump, died Wednesday. He was 70.

Limbaugh said a year ago that he had lung cancer. His death was announced on his show by his wife, Kathryn.

All Goebbels really did was talk. What's your point?

Thank you, Redress. I had checked before I posted, but I managed to miss this one.

If talk was meaningless or ineffectual, he wouldn't have been paid to do it. And if words were harmless, there would be no such thing as demagogues, incitement, threats, slander or libel.

Did doctor Acer deliberately infect her?

He was continuing to practice after testing positive, trying to cover up his condition, but I haven’t seen the allegation that he intended for patients to get HIV.

 Your nonsensical hyperbole is noted.

And yeah, you are apparently precisely the kind of person who would wish someone would die because of politics.

you’re such a dishonest person labeling his bigotry as politics.

Rush Limbaugh, a conservative radio personality who was the bane of Democratic presidents and who built an audience of millions of listeners on the right, has died after a battle with lung cancer. He was 70.
Good. That piece of crap will no longer infect the public life of the nation.

He is not replaceable.
Who, with a modicum of decency and integrity would want to see such a scumbag replaced?

There's no point grave dancing - I think his 'legacy' speaks for itself. In any case he wasn't young, and everyone's time comes.

personally I think it’s a poetic a bigoted blowhard that was a societal cancer died of lung cancer.

He obviously had great skills, it’s a shame he used them to destroy this country.

Stop that.

You know TD can’t actually handle specific examples.
