[W:2761] Trump says he expects to be arrested Tuesday

That attacks on Trump or suspicion about his motives are on account of a long record of crooked and/or illegal dealings going back a long time.
None of which impacted the policies and results during his Presidency and that is what should matter to most people. What bothers me are people who focus on Trump versus their own state and local responsibilities, why the diversion?

I'm not talking about Trump's base.

I'm talking about what counts - nationally electability.

DOJ-FBI can handle his base if they step out-of-line again. But Trump has to pass national electoral muster, and I do not believe he is doing himself any favors here.

The big question, as always, will be if the GOP politicos follow him down this path. They haven't quit him yet. But the point me be hit where it's either Trump or oblivion.
My hope is that Trump isn't the nominee, but if he is he has my vote, cannot take four more years of D policies and results. Trump policies and results destroy those of Biden

Well of coarse. Is that the Trump exception?
Fox said this DA is soft on criminals but is out to get Trump. Is that the truth? Has CNN been critical of this prosecutors history?
It's not the prosecutor's fault that Trump paid hush money to a porn star

No. He's banning the wrong books for the right reasons.
Kids shouldn't have them in the school libraries.
And getting rid of Liberal professors if they disobey the law.
The country doesn't need any more WOKE professors who teach students they are either oppressed or they are the oppressors.
You never went to college did you?

He is calling for protests. What does he expect that means? He is a clear and present danger to America.

When he dies I wonder if the other Presidents will attend his funeral?

We need to be mindful of the vernacular of Trump & Trump World.

His last "protest" stopped the installation of our President, evacuated the Capitol, and resulted in over 1K DOJ criminal indictments.

We know exactly what he means.

I'm concerned with getting him into a courtroom and giving him a trial...and a proper one at that. I want the prosecution to be competent, motivated and well prepared, and I want the defense to be likewise. I want him to face 12 jurors and have his fate lie in their hands.

The order of the crimes he faces trial for is utterly immaterial to me. All that matters to me is that he faces trial for them.

Given today Trump called upon MAGA World for more protests, and we saw what his last call for protests did, I'm getting to the point I just want to see his ass behind bars anyway it can legally be arranged.

No way should we ever have to go through 1/6 again, nor let any man put us through that. We have an obligation to public safety. Things are getting too far out-of-hand

Who said Civil Rights should be banned ?
Well those facts hurt conservative feelings and makes them feel bad so to answer your question... pretty much the GOP.

LANGUAGE WARNING...

Funny my neighbors went from voting for him to now wanting him to go to prison. I'll bet they are not alone.

I've got one of those in my family, too! She even voted Biden, the second time around.

(in all fairness, she's not that political but was a single-issue voter with Trump - immigration)

I would like that too but I also fear that would just cause an escalation of crazy behavior in his most crazy followers.

Don't really care, adhere to the immigration laws and stop trying to turn this country into the one you left. My grandparents were refugees from Italy, my mother never learned to speak Italian, that speaks volumes

Again rhetoric doesn't matter to me, why does it matter to you?

Immigration wasn't the issue that elected Trump, his pro private sector economy was. You call him a hypocrite but the results don't support that claim
He trashed illegals and hired illegals. Sounds hypocritical to me. As to rhetoric, hi there paisan! My father and grandparents all came from Italy as well, from eastern and western Sicily. Per the standard pattern, grandparents didn’t speak English, my parents were bilingual, and my sister and i were English only, except for various Italian insults, tho I can now survive in Italian thanks to learning to Spanish fluently.

But Donald Gavone Trump’s insults to my dad and grandparents did mean something to me, and probably should to you. He said that taking our relatives in was like taking poisonous snakes in. My dad never went to high school, but could quote Patrick Henry’s speeches, and was proud that he lived on Bleeker St., next door to where Thomas Paine had lived in Greenwich Village. Trump probably doesn’t know who Paine and Henry were.

His shifty dealing continued while president. A small thing, by my fave was his making Pence stay in his hotel in Ireland, on the other side of the island he was meeting at. Admittedly Ireland is smallish, but still. And just Google something like “Trump’s crookedness as president.” Report back.

I had a question partially composed in my head, wherein I asked whether Trump announced this to get attention on him, or to try and spark protests or some more violent gatherings among his followers.

But then I realized it was probably both.

I am sorry but anyone who focuses on rhetoric and ignores results doesn't have any credibility. Do you know we have immigration laws in this country? Which ones did he violate>

Better get over rhetoric hurting your feelings, this is the real world and that is going to happen. What Trump did was give you more spendable income therefore putting you in charge, stop blaming him for rhetoric and recognize him for the results.

I'm still skeptical there are enough people out there anymore that are willing to throw their lives away for that slime ball. If there are, we are doing the country a favor by getting them out of circulation. The trailer courts must really be buzzing with plans.

Yeah, I'm not sure of their willingness this time around either.

1/6 shocked the hell out of me. But it's possible the over 1K federal indictments cooled their jets, and brought a little reality to the situation (as much reality as can possibly be brought a Trumper).

So, you might be right.

But that still doesn't absolve Trump of what he's trying to do again.

I support the rule of law, especially the rights of defendants. But after seeing him pull this crap again, today? I'd like to see the states and DOJ go after him in any legal way possible. The government has a Constitutional mandate to provide for public safety, and I'd like them to step-up and do their job.

No way should any man have gotten away with what he did to us on 1/6. And it is beyond tragedy & travesty, if we allow him to do it again.

"Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you."

Wow, that really would bother me as well, NOT!! Better focus on your own state problems and quit blaming Trump for your own government failures.
