My impression is that there is no aspect of China's military that the US doesn't outclass, probably by multiple generations of technology in most cases.

Setting aside the hardware, AFAIK China hasn't attacked anyone in a significant military operation since the 50s, whereas we've been in a near perpetual state of war for that entire time. That lack of experience matters.

The way China "wins" a war is to talk their way out of fighting, and using their economic leverage to their advantage. If they 'take" Taiwan it will be because we have agreed to let them have it.

The North Koreans with ten divisions of approximately 10,000 men armed with Russian rifles and Russian tanks (120 T-34s and additional SU-76s) drove the fledgling South Korean Army and a small contingent of US Army down to a tiny perimeter of Pusan.

Once the UN forces landed things changed as they forced the NK Army back, did an end around at Inchon and rolled up the North Koreans to within spitting distance of the Chinese border.

You would need to fly suicidely close to the water to avoid detection. The Chinese field some of the most advanced and capable radars in the world, with the coastline extremely well covered. This is an area they have been investing in for a long time.

S and l band is the only band really able to detect something flying close to the water, or awacs or other look down radars. Those advanced radars can not easily track low flying targets, britain learned that fighting argentina, where they took heavy naval losses due to short distance low flying jets which bypassed their radars.

China does not show evidence of a major early detection system, russia has a well established one, but here is the big thing, early detection radars are ww2 tech, they see everything, low flying objects, stealth aircraft, humming birds, etc. The entire idea behind early detection is to see something before it it is too late, allowing the dispatch of fighter aircraft or interceptors.
