Yes, Venezuela is a basket case thanks to Socialism

Chavez and his Socialist chronies appropriated ( stole ) Venezuela's major wealth producting industries and then he and his Socialist central planners ran them into the ground

They decided stupidly to build a economy around a single volatile commodity while mismanaging every other industry the Nationalized.

Do you know why there are shortgages of basic supplies and food in Venezuela?

No, the point is, socialist governments always oppress their people. You people argue, "oh, it's never really been done right, blah blah blah". The fact is, oppression is always the end result of socialist/communist regimes.

Please name a country that does not oppress its people. Every country has its good and bad. The ones that run the best for the actual populace of the country have some sort of a mix of capitalism and socialism. It seems to me the ones that have more of a mix of the latter seem to do better for its constituents.

Just take a look at the Scandinavian countries. They do not have to be fully socialist nor communism in nature to be good for its people. They do have more equal societies for its people so there isn't the same kind of say childhood poverty and the extreme wealth.

I would love to find some sort of documentation showing these assets, and where they came from but none exist that I can find. Citing tabloid sources that basically admit they don't even have any proof is rather pathetic.

The source you provided stated it had no evidence. I can't produce evidence of something that doesn't seem to be out there floating around. I will hold off on any discussion of something that has NO evidence to discuss. If in fact there is some sort of actual evidence of these assets and where they come from, I would be the first to love to see them. It would be very interesting to say the least.
