Should a supreme court justice be advocating some other type constitution other than our own?
MEMRI: US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg to Egyptians: Look to the Constitutions of South Africa or Canada, Not to the US Constitution
Ruth Bader Ginsburg said:we were just tremendously fortunate in the U.S. that the men that met in Philadelphia were very wise.
Should a supreme court justice call our founding fathers wise?
Well, they did wipe their ass with a corncob. What do you think?
j/k
edify us as to what you would have done back then? that has to be one of the most moronic comments I have ever seen in more than 6 years on this board

Look at the end of his post. See where is says "j/k"? That stands for "just kidding". He was making(and admitedly poor) joke. Let me know if you need any more help with those complicated internet acronyms.
Yes. A Supreme Court justice should be so intimately familiar with our Constitution as to be able to recognize its weaknesses-- and be able to advise nations newly chartering Constitutions on how to make theirs better.
Loving your country means making it better, not believing it's perfect.
Considering how ineffectual our constitution is in these modern times, I think a supreme court justice has a moral imperative to advocate some other type of constitution than our own.
What makes our constitution inflectional is due to scumbag politicians subverting the constitution and supreme court judges making rulings based on their political bias.It has nothing to do with the constitution itself. This can happen with any constitution.
I think that someone whose job it is to make court room decisions based on the constitution should have a really high regard for the constitution. I find it hard to believe that someone who does not have a high regard for our constitution can be fully trusted to do their job. Perhaps this is why she used foreign laws to influence some of her court room decisions. No constitution on earth is perfect and every constitution on earth can be subject to scumbags blatantly misinterpreting it in order to screw people out of their rights.
Which is ludicrous since effective constitutions must take into account scumbag politicians and supreme court justices making rulings based on their political bias.

The federal government and states all across the country have misinterpreted the 2nd amendment in order to infringe upon it even though the constitution blatantly says the people have the right to keep and bear arms and that it shall not be infringed. States have DUI checks and the TSA has virtual strip searches and invasive pat downs ever though the 4th amendment says you need reasonable cause or a warrant to search someone. These are pretty clear amendments. If something like that can happen in the USA which is a pretty great country then something like that can definitely happen in other countries regardless of how well written their constitutions are. Scumbags in office will use the "its for the public good" , "it was written at a different time" or use the "we have different technology today than they did back then" excuse as a means to **** on that constitution.
And she indicates in her interview that she has just such a high regard for our constitution. You are making a mountain out of something les than a molehill.
