Two 13-year-olds shot while trying to steal car in Southwest Philadelphia: Police

You're absolutely right. Getting rid of so many firearms on our streets and in public hands would help reduce crime too.

Of course...guns. It would be the same if the kids had a knife or a baseball bat. The issue is the threat and nobody on the anti-gun side EVER considers why these criminals feel a need to threaten innocent people.

So then you should have no problems with nukes on sale at Walmart. Knives, baseball bats, guns, nukes.... whatever. the tool isn't what really matters, right? It's just about the people.

The people who push gun control only want the government to have guns.

How well did that work out in Soviet Russia, Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Communist China, Pol Pot's Kampuchea, and pretty much every other oppressive form of government in history?
How right you are. Look at those countries and how they label speech and thought they oppose hate.
Can't have the first amendment without the second.

I grew up watching lots of shoot'em-up cowboy movies. While fun to watch, I remember thinking I'm so glad I don't live in that kind of society anymore, but instead in modern civil societies.

Oh well, I guess I was wrong...

Your real world is a Hollywood set?

Standard.

We talk about lawful ownership of guns and you guys talk about nukes.
We talk about merit based hiring and you guys talk about Hitler.
Whenever there is a potential for a difference of opinion on a given subject you guys always bring up the most absurd possibility possible or, on occasion, impossible.

Sadly, the "gangster lifestyle" has been perpetuated in movies and music for quite some time. Almost "romantically" picturing the gangsters dying in a hail of gunfire, as often as not with some beautiful girl crying over them as they pass away in their arms.

Crime should not be romanticized. Gangs should not be romanticized. Bring back romanticizing the good guys who only use guns as a last resort against the bad guys who use guns to take from, and/or harm others with intent.
And his dying words are, "Honey, I knew you'd need diapers for our baby, and I was trying my best to find work, but no one would hire a guy with a tattoo of the devil on his forehead. I will see you in heaven darling" as his eyes close and he breathes his final breath to her sobbing "Why! Why him??"

Excuses do not fly with me. Two wrongs do not make a right.
?? I've made no excuses whatsoever. None. You asked a question - I answered it! You wrote ....

"What is your solution to stop people from harming others?" I wrote "THE LAW!"
D U H !

Is that too difficult for you to wrap your mind around? We have laws that keep people from harming others.
🤷‍♂️
Are you suggesting you have a different solution to keep people from harming others? Do tell!

What do we do with people who break the law. Not enough police to be everywhere, and would you want that if there were? We now effectively have a catch and release program. Criminals go back on the street and accost people again because they didn't get a penalty stiff enough to stop them.

If it takes shooting the people to protect those they harm, then I'm OK with that.

I cannot fathom a response from a poster that we have "The Law" to keep people from breaking the law (harming others).

??WHA...?? You think shooting a car thief makes us safer?!? On what planet does that happen?

Even safer if the criminal is killed...

I guess there's no sense in asking you about whether or not the punishment should fit the crime. Too complicated a question for you.

It definitely fit the crime.

13 year olds out stealing cars and pulling out a gun. SMH I do have to feel bad they were shot because they are very much children who obviously have no positive role models in their lives but hopefully this can be a wake up call to those young boys to straighten up their lives.

I doubt it. Most of these kids are like animals. They have little empathy, it is fight or flight or take and laugh when they commit crimes or hurt people they just shout you down and justify their behaviour and dismiss everything.

In Trumpistan, everyone found guilty of stealing diapers and baby food would be sentenced to death.

When there were riots in Mayor Dick Daley's Chicago, he instructed cops to shoot to wound thieves and shoot to kill arsonists. By the way, he was a prominent Democrat.

OK. So you're a vigilante. Define "harm".

I remember Daley. I hitchhiked into Chicago back in his day.
What's your point? That there are Democrats who might recommend shooting to kill anybody? Were you imagining this would surprise me?

😐

What about when people break the law intending to do me or my family harm? Those are crimes and they occur despite laws...correct?

Is there a reason that our lives should be put more at risk because of the fear for others? Are the others' lives more valuable than ours?

I got Fat Man for my brother-in-law for Xmas.

I got an ICBM with MIRVs for my Uncle Achmed.

Oh shit...it was supposed to be a surprise.

We didnt need that, bro in law stays pretty local. Just pop and drop.

Seriously, I looked and looked the other day at Walmart, and can't find anything that costs 85 million dollars. What to do? I don't want my brother to think I'm a cheapskate come his birthday.

If you're on a budget, you could give him home made "coupons" for 5 bombings of his choice.
