The U.S. strikes into Laos and Cambodia, which consisted of immense amounts of ordinance, didn’t actually hinder communist forces there and in Cambodia arguably strengthened the Khmer Rouge, so that clearly isn’t even remotely true.

The U.S. didn’t invade North Vietnam because that would have been an idiotic idea.

None of which changes the reality Khe Sanh was entirely intended to be a WW2 style battle to destroy much of the NVA, and wound up being anything but.
