President Donald Trump said in a new interview Friday that persecuted Christians will be given priority over other refugees seeking to enter the United States, saying they have been "horribly treated."

Speaking with the Christian Broadcasting Network, Trump said that it had been "impossible, or at least very tough" for Syrian Christians to enter the United States.

"If you were a Muslim you could come in, but if you were a Christian, it was almost impossible and the reason that was so unfair -- everybody was persecuted, in all fairness -- but they were chopping off the heads of everybody but more so the Christians. And I thought it was very, very unfair. So we are going to help them."

With Christian civilization under assault throughout the Muslim world, finally a bit of sanity from an American president: Keep out the terrorists and help people who we are certain qualify as refugees.
 
Just using his own logic here cause I think helping refugees is a good thing: How do you know they are Christians and not terrorists in disguise plotting to kill innocent Americans?

Yet another Trump falsehood it seems like.

This reminds me of when Jeb said that in the primaries and a reporter stumped him immediately by asking how he could tell who was Christian and who wasn't.

For regular visas it may not be a problem, but when taking about refugees who don't have paperwork because they are coming from a war zone how does one prove their religious status? Seems it would only stop honest Muslims. A terrorist could just say, "I'm a Christian and in fear for my life".

I'm an atheist myself but I've seen what the tag of "atheism" has become to many, especially on the left.

They dump god and religion and replace it with the state and government which is no better and perhaps worse.

We've had atheist leaders. Mao and Pol Pot come to my mind. You still had hocus pocus: "Watch me make millions of people disappear! Abracadabra.... "

I guess that depends on the state and the government. I'm more comfortable putting my faith in something real vs thousand year old texts.

Those who can't prove who they are don't get into the program. Another thing that makes the refugee program a horrible path for terrorists is refugees can't chose to enter the US system. A refugee first has to be labeled a legitimate refugee by the UN than the countries that are excepting refugees pick people from that list. They then go through a stringent investigation. Approx 1% of refugees that enter the system actually reach US soil and it takes about 2 years to do so.

Ironically it's a tactical that has been used in Kenyan terror attacks. Terriosts have spared Muslims if they could " prove it"

Immigrants didn't destabilize our Democracy. Trump and Co. are doing that all on their own.

I don't see our American democracy as unstable. I see entire regions of the world as unstable, thanks to Islam.

I don't see Muslims destabilizing our electoral institutions. Trump and Republicans have been doing that with voter purges and fake accusations of illegal voters all on their own.
