Trump considers DeSantis for Defense secretary as Hegseth appears to falter

A president-elect's daughter-in-law appointed to the senate is a little unusual.
Its not unheard of that the spouse is appointed and other nonsense.

In Illinois, per the former governor, it was $75K. Cash only. :ROFLMAO:

Former multiterm governor.

While some were related to the military, others were not.
I mean, being governor really isn't experience for running our military or national defense strategies.

Does he have any ACTUAL qualifications?

Sounds reasonable. This kind of appointment happens all the time.. Don't kid yourself.
In consecutive posts you whine about Biden pardoning his son but think it's reasonable for family members to be handed a US Senator position without an election.

You people really do want us to be like Russia.

I think they're pushing to be more like North Korea.

Its experience for running an agency.

Again, previous office holders have been industry doods, governors, and Congressmen.

Lara would do a great job. I am holding out hope that Matt Gaetz is appointed, though. Adam Schitt needs his nemesis. Matt could sit next to Susan and Lisa.
lol. it's really sad just how much you people will try and suck up to these clowns.

Everyone is gonna fight/not resign/stick with it, until they don’t.

Let's say it this way.

Lloyd Austin is a General, had command staff experience in the field, was a Director for the Joint Staff, served on the Staff of the Army, and was commander of Central Command all before becoming Secretary of Defense.

Does DeSantis have any accomplishments or qualifications towards this appointment?

I will say it again. A former governor with experience running multiple government agencies.

OK, but how does that relate specifically to running the military and national defense strategies?

Lloyd Austin is why we need Pete. DeSantis has a state to run.

Pete trotted his mom out this morning to vouch for him. I wasn’t impressed with what I saw. I can imagine bringing my mom in to get a job when I was in my mid-forties. Pete is in the same frame of mind as when he was trying to “get lucky.”

Is it better to withdraw before having all this aired in public hearings and get voted down?

Yeah, well perhaps he should have staid away from the sexual assault and battery stuff then.

In terms of corruption...she’s not going to be any more of rubber stamp for Trump than little Marco was but there is something distasteful about having a family member appointed. I can’t really figure what is in it for Santis. Is SECDEF a promotion from a governor slot?.

The actual corruption is that we no longer have checks and balances.

Is that the strategy? To first nominate one of the most reprehensible people on Earth to set the expectations, then when he falters go one step less repulsive?
