He absolutely was 'stalking' him and its funny how you want to rely on rules, laws etc when they are CONVENIENT but a police dispatcher isnt REALLY a police officer. OK...how about "as self appointed newighborhoodwatchguy, dickhead should have known A-not to carry a firearm while doing your 'duties' and B-report and let the 'real' police do their job". He killed a kid because he was stupid. He is and should be found criminally liable. Get over it? Well...thats EASY for us, now...isnt it. Maybe not so much for the parents of a dead 17 year old...but easy for us.

No neighborhood watch organization is supposed to intervene, let alone pursue and even less so with a firearm. What we do know about the case so far seems to paint Zimmerman not as a bloodthirsty racist but as a bumbling goober who's little pee-pee got hard when he got himself a piece.

He ignored the rules of the neighborhood watch program by pursuing a suspicious person and being armed while doing so.

He ignored the directions of the emergency dispatcher. While not a legitimate authority, it was another barrier that he broke through to get out and confront Martin.

It's hard to make a case that you killed a child in self-defense when you seemed hellbent on confronting him with a gun in the first place.

Zimmerman seems like an impulsive bozo, neither the gun-toting racist as the crazy left wants him to be or an American hero as the crazy right wants.

Here's a weird idea....What if they took Zimmerman into custody, found out what actually happened, and then either charged him or let him go?

You know, what police do every time someone shoots someone else.

They did actuall;y do that once already. The concern is they didnt actually do a very good job of investigating.

Hmm this issue is proving so divisive, which is a worrying.
And here's an observation, all of you who claim to have no bias must come to the obvious conclusion. We simply do not know what happened and we may never know what happened. There is simply not the facts to support either side definitely, to claim otherwise is speculation.

How in hell are they going to find jury members that are impartial? It seems everyone has an oppionon on this issue.


Also, does the US have Coroner's Inquest or something similar? Where the facts could be examined without Zimmerman on trial.

When Martin saw Zimmer walking AWAY from him he turned and pursued Zimmerman and caught him before he got to his vehicle. Martin attacked Zimmerman with punches, knocking him down, grabbed his head and repeatedly slammed it on the concrete in a violent rage.

Witnesses support this.

Zimmerman never ran after Martin. He was walking behind him. 911 told Zim to stop. Zim complained and hung up and STOPPED

Zim turned and headed back to his car. Zim never contacted Martin.

According to the girlfriend, Martin did get away and then Zimmerman appeared right behind him again. That situation is plausible and keeps with the pattern that existed at the start of the night - Zimmerman following and Martin running away. That's all I'm saying. If you disagree fine, but saying, "Martin could have gotten away" doesn't have any effect on the fact that he might not have gotten away.

It defies logic. Martin can easily stay away. He can run circles around Zimmerman if he wants to. Just because something is "plausible" does not make it logical, much less likely. And your take also ignores the fact that one was waiting on the police, communicating with them, and one not. One had chosen to call the police, and one not.

'Because its possible' does not then become 'its plausible', and surely does not become logical or consistent.

Since we don't know the complete details of the actual altercation, I can't really consider that. Any half-knowledge would only make objective analysis harder. So I can't make a comment on that.

What we do know and has been released as details of the case is just like I said. As it stands now, incompletely, it seems like a hard sell for Zimmerman.

And the law is BS. What kind of state congress passes a law that treats the killing of another citizen so flippantly that Zimmerman is just let go on his word alone?

3. I'm not ignoring that Zimmerman chose to call the police. Whether he called the police or not has nothing to do with the version of events I believe.

Again, the most important part of this case is still fuzzy. It needs to be sorted out in court. I'm not saying Zimmerman is guilty, I'm giving my opinion on the case so far, with a little hyperbole thrown in for flavor.

Don't forget that if this case had never gone nationwide like it has, Zimmerman might have never even be on trial in the first place. The reaction to this case is really more about the fact that Zimmerman was free to go after killing Martin. I agree with the critics in saying that that is unacceptable; they both deserve their day in court.

It's unfortunate that this whole thing has been hijacked by race hustlers.

Because white men can't jump And even more importantly a basic pursuit would have had them further towards M's destination. All the logistics are wrong for your belief that M kept on going, walking or running. Its also inconsisstent with what we do know, who is on tape with the police, and who not.

I wasn't aware that Zimmerman is on trial. Doesn't the grand jury decide whether or not to indict before anything else happens, or did I miss it?

Your version of events is inconsistent with what is on the tapes. Zimmerman was following Martin during the entire time. My version of events is consistent with this that Zimmerman continued the pattern after hanging up.

Zimmerman calling the police has nothing do with what I think happened. You can call the police and still be in the wrong.

Point being, the original article last week, and all the uninformed crap in a thread about it, was just that. Nonense.

I told you guys just a few posts into that thread that he had a visible cut on the back of his head, and pretty much everyone just ignored it. This was visible on the original video, if you know what you're looking at. What it amounts to is that Zimmerman has already been tried in the court of public opinion, and very few are willing to put aside their prejudices and look. Imo, it's about damn time ABC came clean with the initial BS they were trying to pass off as truth.

Even when we got robbed and my roommate shot one of them, it was a cut and dry case of Castle law, and even he had to go to trial and defend himself. You really think it's a good thing for the the nation to give ordinary citizens wide legal girth and lax consequences for killing others?
