None of us know what happened. Yes, that includes you. As much as we like to speculate, we don't know if Zimmerman had good reason to believe that Martin represented an imminent threat to his safety. This does not place Zimmerman in the right, though. At best, Zimmerman acted extremely stupidly when he decided to follow Martin. I do not care if Martin approached him later. Zimmerman started the confrontation by following Martin, and whether or not the fight was precipitated by Martin feeling threatened or not, there was absolutely no reason for a neighborhood watch captain to follow a suspect. None. It is a job for police, and Zimmerman's desire to catch who he thought was a criminal at the very least indirectly led to a young man's death.

The only obvious fact you forgot was the one about the person who was shot and killed. You revealed your biases. So, if he chose to not walk home, as he could have twice already, and he chose not to call the cops, tell us what he did choose to do ?

As for him being the poor little kid ... he was "No_Limit_NI&&A" ... 3 times supended from HS for drugs, vandalism, and burglary paraphenalia. With a gold grill, lots of money for a kid, etc. 6'3".

If you are up to good, you call the cops. If you are up to no good, then maybe not.

Point of it all is that your theory is not supported by common sense or evidence.

OBTW, one of Zimmerman's 911 calls earlier in the year led to the arrest of a suspect in one of the recent burglaries right there. In that gated community.

Okay, thank you for explaining. As I'm sure you suspect, I disagree. I disagree for two reasons:

1. Martin was running away when Zimmerman's 911 call. During the phone call, Zimmerman was following Martin. It doesn't make sense that all of a sudden, Martin stopped running and turned around and that Zimmerman was now the one being followed.

2. Martin's girlfriend verifies Zimmerman's claim that he lost Martin. She says that Martin lost Zimmerman and then Zimmerman suddenly appeared behind him again. Consider that Zimmerman started running when Martin started running, it reasonable to conclude that Zimmerman found Martin again.

The general pattern of events of the night point to Martin approaching Zimmerman. From the 911 call, we can establish that Zimmerman was following Martin and that Martin was running away. It seems unlikely to me that after Zimmerman gets off the phone that entire pattern completely changes so that now Martin stops running away/Martin follows Zimmerman and Zimmerman stops following Martin/is followed by Martin.

You are one of the few who are making a logical argument. I suppose you are right that it is still possible that Zimmerman found him again and initiated the contact. Even if you think that it is a 50/50 possibility that still plays to the advantage of his defense.

Here's a weird idea....What if they took Zimmerman into custody, found out what actually happened, and then either charged him or let him go?

But I am curious, do you think that a conviction is possible based solely on the evidence that we have? Do you think there is enough evidence to support a murder conviction if what we have been made aware of in the public? Enough to prove that Zimmerman was not acting in self defense beyond a reasonable doubt?

Has anyone explained the fact that wounds on Zimmerman's head are evident in the video posted, and they weren't in the evening news reports? How about the recorded 911 phone call being "doctored" by the evening news shows? Looks and sounds like somebody went to a lot of trouble to skew the evidence in this case, don't you think?

I think you need to look at the map of the complex, and where events occured, before applying the "logic".



The paths are guesses made by another, with Z in yellow, and M in black. Blue being Z's truck. We don't really know who walked which way. But we cannot debate the layout. Trayvon could easily elude the truck by taking the pathways between or around the homes. Which he clearly did. Eluding GZ was absolutely no problem for TM, if he wanted to. TM could have gotten away, and stayed away. No problem.

If the girlfriend's testimony in court is the same as it has been reported in the press, then I think it's possible though I am not certain enough to say "yes" definitively. Here's why I say it's possible with a lean towards "yes".

The jury would know that Zimmerman was following Martin. The jury would know that Martin ran. Both of those things make Zimmerman the aggressor. The question then becomes, after Zimmerman's 911 call, did Zimmerman stop being the aggressor and did Martin start being the aggressor? There are two things that push the jury towards believing that Zimmerman was always the aggressor: The girlfriend and the histories.

First, Martin's girlfriend's story has two points with a jury over Zimmerman's: a. It's in keeping with the pattern in Zimmerman's 911 call - Martin running and Zimmerman following. b. It's not the story of the guy who's trying not to go to jail. Second, the histories of Martin and Zimmerman push the jury in Martin's favor too, I think. Zimmerman has a legal history of aggressive and violent behavior. Martin, although he has a history of delinquent behavior, does not have legal history of aggressive or violent behavior.

Zimmerman never ran after Martin. He was walking behind him. 911 told Zim to stop. Zim complained and hung up and STOPPED

Zim turned and headed back to his car. Zim never contacted Martin.
