I think it is necessary for the left to pick their battles in order to win. Bigots want the fight to be about trans women in women's sports and puberty blockers for 11 year olds. That is what they want the fight to be about because then it is a winning issue for them. Don't give them 80/20 issues. Say, yeah, it can be unfair for a trans woman to compete in women's sports, then go on to point out that the right is utterly obsessed with demonizing trans people and have introduced hundreds of anti-trans bills in the last year alone. I think trans women competing in women's sports is often unfair. I also think that trans people should have legal protections for housing discrimination, employment discrimination, healthcare discrimination and so on. I think they should be able to fully participate in society, use the bathroom that correlates to their gender indentity, change their drivers license to match their gender identity and so on. You know the issues that actually that actually matter to trans people, and are also winning issues for Democrats and losers for bigots.

Letting Republicans make the issue about trans women in women's sports gives them a winning issue, and then when they have power, they go on to attack the fundimental rights of trans people.

How bizarre. Trump can break treaties, even his own, at will. He can ignore court orders, even those of the Supreme Court. He can use the US Military as his own personal police force, use the DOJ for his own political purposes, break the law by depriving people of their inherent civil rights, and constantly violate the Constitution. He uses the presidency to commit crimes and to escape judicial punishment. He is making us the most despised country in the world and on and on. And his followers just cheer him on and ask for more. But they absolutely need him to get involved in who won some race in Texas that doesn't fit their religious beliefs because of some perceived fairness issue? His followers have lost all concept of right and wrong or prioritization of importance. This is a nothing but a distraction. There are people who are actually in charge of these things.
