You're never going to understand this but I'll say it anyway.
You just gave your opposition a martyr. Gun laws, in particular CCW will now be reassessed in many states.
You made your bed, now sleep in it for the next 10 years.
You think you won, you lost.
That's why I left conservative activism, just too many Goobers. I couldn't make excuses for them any more.

Spanky, get over it. Since you can't crow about the verdict, you're now saying there's some secret move to do away with CCW's. SCOTUS as already ruled. Give it a rest.
Tell that to CA.

This case definitely brought issues to the forefront of discourse that weren't there as much before. Stand your ground laws, self-defense laws in general, conceal carry laws, the structure of the "justice system", racial profiling, racism and so on. It reminds me of when voter suppression laws happened and then blacks came out strong to ensure that their voices were heard. The social implications of this case and the reactions of many conservative white people to it have ignited a lot of fires - political or otherwise. You're never going to understand this but I'll say it anyway.

Please. What are you talking about?
You're missing my point and this is coming from a 2nd amend supporter and gun owner. Ihave a variety of handguns and an Uzi and Galil .223. I don't have a CCW because it's just impossible to get in the state I live in.
Gun opponents will use this is a means to get states to reassess their gun and CCW laws...and Fl will be the first.
My point is many of you think this is some kind of win because Zimm was a CCW holder and I'm telling you it is a long term loss.
What if all states had the same draconian CCW laws as CA?

I see. Well, I never thought this was a win for CCW. I thought it was a win for justice.
I think California's going to get slapped because its statute reads "may issue." Illinois just hashed this out and intentionally changed the wording to "will issue" because of SCOTUS's ruling.
Tell that to CA.

It's true, in both the superficial and genuine sense. There will plenty of politicians who will now use Trayvon Martin superficially to advance their political causes. And there will also be plenty of activists and others who will genuinely use Martin's memory as motivation to enact change in the world so that there will be no more deaths like his.And proponents of that have just been handed a martyr.
