I cited the effectiveness of Sweden's response or lack of one in the context of ALL nations and as compared to industrialized nations.
You seem to have rejected the context of those two universes and presented another so I used that universe in deference to you.
Accurate data culled from the universe you suggest is considered by you to be irrelevant.
Alrighty, then!
Common sense is fraught with biases. We will see is Sweden approach of common sense is more effective than the draconian measures taken by other European countries. Sweden way is to take care of both economy and virus simultaneously, without the need of a total lockdown.
So far Sweden total cases on April 2 (5,568) and death (308) are in the middle range of number of death per 1 million population in the EU. When this is over, it can be used to see which of the approach worked better.

Yeah….. scientists change their minds when the facts change. That is a good thing. Also peer review is how one comes to consensus, it is a very rigorous process that requires others to review and repeat experiments.Fully agree here!
The word "expert" is a running joke for me now. It confuses me how so many experts can disagree with each other so much during this crisis.
If they're all experts, then surely they should all agree with each other?
The fact that one week they advise one thing, then the following week they contradict themselves doesn't help much either.
Facial masks for example - do I need to wear one or not? We're getting conflicting advice on those now!
The US is dying in droves because of your preferred policy.Sweden is keeping its low-scale lockdown, a better alternative that a total lockdown that will decimate the economy, causing a social upheaval and many more deaths than the virus. Anders Wallensten, the deputy chief epidemiologist, said that “the number of new Covid-19 cases was starting to decline and he was ‘cautiously positive’ Sweden was approaching the peak.”
Long, extreme lockdown, will increase death from hunger, psychological trauma, suicide, domestic violence, transportation problems and economic devastation. Most Sweden will not die from those causes that is the benefit.
Not having mandatory policies killed 100s of thousands in the US dismissed. The choice is whether policy choices are achieving through commands backed up by threats of fines and arrests, or though recommendations that appeal to individual responsibility, like in Sweden, a positive approach. An all-out war to save individual lives involved huge costs to the country economy and wellbeing of its people.
Unlike in some countries, Sweden’s statistics do include all deaths in the country, not only just hospital deaths but include elderly care home residents, who account for around 50% of all deaths. The Public Health Agency is investigating the reason.
In New York, the nursing home and adult care residents account for about 30% of deaths. On March 25, the New York State Department of Health issued a mandate requiring nursing homes to accept those recovering from coronavirus, even if they still might be contagious. Link: https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/s...covid19-_nhadmissionsreadmissions_-032520.pdf. This action approved by governor Cuomo it is reckless and careless. The nursing homes were not provided with the necessary protected equipment. The Governor said. “It’s not our job” to provide the homes with personal protective equipment. This amount to lack of respect for human life.
This is a total lie again Covid killed more people in the US than the flu over similar time periods. **** your money. You people are not sacrificing granny so you guys can gamble on the stock market. With Dr. Ferguson track record it is unbelievable that governments accepted his prediction at face value. And still he remain a professor at the Imperial College of London. What about those scientist that knew about his failed projections and did nothing about it.
It is not worth to cripple the economies of nations and jeopardize the lives of millions of people for a virus whose mortality rate it is not worse than the common flu. The more data is collected it is evident that shutting down the nation based on faulty statistics is unacceptable. The cure is worse than the disease.
Yes it will. New Zealand, south korea, and other countries that implemented proper procedures beat this thing. Most of the fatalities, close to 50%, have taken place among the elderly, and among the immigrants population. The country's chief epidemiologist Anders Tegnell said that they should have done a better job of protecting the elderly living in nursing homes. Because of the lockdown the recession of the economy of E.U. will be more severe than in Sweden. He also said that “by maintaining the Swedish approach, relying on voluntary measures, works better over time because it’s easier to maintain. Locking people up at home won’t work in the longer term.” More than 60% of the population support the government approach to the coronavirus.
It will be very interesting to see how this approach works out for the Swedes. Personally, I see trouble ahead.
Looking at the current figures in Italy and Spain (after weeks of lockdown), simple logic tells me that those figures would be much higher had life carried on as normal.
In the context of ALL nations they score far worse than her Nordic neighbors. The one most like her.
If you want to compare apples to oranges feel free.
"In the context of ALL nations they score far worse than her Nordic neighbors. "
Do you see any flaw in your logic in this statement?
Anything at all? Stating the context to be ALL nations and then limiting that universe to three nations out of the universe?
To my way of thinking, people are people and people are the target of the Coronavirus.
Because Sweden can be easiest compared to her neighbors because similarities in climate, culture and so on. Sweden has about 10 million people, and Norway, Denmark and Finland have 5 million each. Sweden should logically have double the deaths/ cases not 10 times more. And Sweden started to do better once they started to use restrictions. Sweden has has Covid restrictions of various kind for over a year now."In the context of ALL nations they score far worse than her Nordic neighbors. "

The Sweden government social distancing guidelines was only one meter (3.28 ft), about half of six feet imposed for most countries, lessening the impact on businesses that remained open. Guidelines recommend that those than can to work from home do so; those that feel sick are tested for the virus, and if positive stay home without loss of income during treatment. Sweden didn’t close primary schools allowing parents to work. This allowed workers in critical sectors such as healthcare to keep working and avoid depriving children of crucial time in school, since they are mostly immune to the coronavirusWell said!
I have posted here before that allowing Anthony Fauci to dictate policy was like letting the cleaning woman dictate how to run a manufacturing facility.
Her advice might be useful, but not if she demanded that no production occur because it was just too messy.

More than 50% of all death are of people living in elderly care home. According to the epidemiologist Tegnell, the death toll among the elderly is “a failure to protect our elderly who live in care homes.”
Closing of borders and lockdowns are not supported by historical scientific basis. Typically you quarantine the sick, you don’t quarantine the healthy. The effectiveness of full lockdowns adopted by most countries have been minimal. In the U.S seven states had not adopted lockdowns, only voluntary social distances restrictions and banning of large gatherings. These states have substantially fewer cases and deaths than the lockdown states. Long, extreme lockdown, increase death from psychological trauma, suicide, domestic violence, and cause transportation problems and economic devastation. It seems like the OBVIOUS FACT that the elderly were a very threatened demographic escaped the notice of our experts and experts around the world.
It's astonishing that our experts are so outlandishly stupid.
A lockdown is not quarantining the healthy, it is preventing the sick from infecting the healthy. If everyone would comply with social distancing, not have that many personal contacts and would stay at home and do regular self testing, lockdowns might be prevented. Sadly lockdowns (to some degree) are needed to prevent the health care system being overwhelmed. But you have to be smart about it, we have an evening lockdown of sorts, all businesses are closed after 5pm, an advise to work from home (where possible) and more adherence to the covid rules, a total lockdown can be prevented.Closing of borders and lockdowns are not supported by historical scientific basis. I agree.
The negative impacts from the response seem to have been far worse than from the virus.
According to Tegnel “Sweden’s population of migrants and people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, which is much higher than any of its Scandinavian neighbors, has also contributed to the country’s high death toll.” About 40% of covid death in Sweden, around 6,000 of the 15,000, have occurred among the migrant population that account close to 26% of the population.Nearly a quarter of Sweden’s population has an immigrant background

Swedish State Epidemiologist Dr. Anders Tegnel, the architect of Sweden’s unorthodox coronavirus strategy, has defended his no-lockdown approach to the pandemic, attributing the country’s death toll — which is considerably elevated compared to its Nordic neighbors — to its large migrant population.
During an interview with The Financial Times, Tegnel discussed what he sees as the main factors which have contributed to Sweden’s COVID-19 death toll of more than 15,000, which at this point in the pandemic is higher than the combined death tolls of Norway, Finland, and Denmark.
Although critics may be quick to conclude that Sweden’s elevated death toll is due to its absence of strict lockdown measures, Tegnel says it is more complicated than that, arguing that Sweden’s population of migrants and people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, which is much higher than any of its Scandinavian neighbors, has also contributed to the country’s high death toll.
“Swedish society is very different from the society in Norway and Finland, which we tend to disregard because we share a long history together and have similar languages. COVID doesn’t care about history or language, it cares about socio-economic status or migrant backgrounds, or crowded housing. That’s where Sweden stands out in a Nordic context, but not so much in an EU context,” Tegnel told the London-based newspaper.

Sweden never experienced a single Delta wave, and now has the second lowest case rate in all of Europe. Its natural immunity was able to prevent any major Delta wave. Vaccines do not end pandemics. According to U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, says that “vaccines alone will not end the pandemic.” Sweden long-term study of vaccine effectiveness found that after 6-7 months, "no effectiveness could be detected" from the Pfizer shot.”Horowitz: Sweden obliterates the lie of ‘vaccines’ as ticket to ending pandemic - TheBlaze
Daniel Horowitz | November 16, 2021
It is now undeniable that in almost every part of North America, Europe, and East Asia, the pandemic is more prolific than it ever was before a single person was vaccinated, even though most of those countries have nearly every adult vaccinated. Thus, it is impossible to deny that vaccinologists like Geert Vanden Bossche and Luc Montagnier were correct when they predicted that mass vaccination with a suboptimal, non-sterilizing vaccine in middle of a pandemic would create vaccine-mediated viral enhancement. It's hard to imagine how people who pushed this strategy didn't see this coming.
The typical retort to this allegation is that it's all the fault of "the Delta" and that somehow things would have been even worse without the shots. The problem with this assertion is that we are seeing the sharpest waves ever in the most vaccinated countries. Also, the fact that Sweden has never gotten a Delta wave demonstrates that natural immunity alone would have ended this pandemic.
Central and Eastern Europe are now on fire from the latest wave of the virus, which some researchers suspect is no longer Delta. Putting the variant aside, every single European country has gotten at least one wave of the virus — to varying degrees of severity — since Delta proliferated in June. The one exception is Sweden. The Scandinavian country now has the second lowest case rate in all of Europe, but more importantly, unlike Spain, which is the lowest, the Swedes never experienced a single Delta wave (as Spain did in July).

This makes them also more receptive to disinformation/ alternative facts and hence more reluctant to vaccinate.
