With half the season already over what is the status of your team? Are they still in the hunt?

The Jets just constantly tripping overthemselves (especially with Jenkins and Washington gone) and with the lost to the Patriots any hopes of at least making the Wild Card are pretty much crushed. The Giants however seemed to kick aside their losing streak and are back in the hunt for the NFC east.

The Eagles eeked out a nice win yesterday. Washington was hungry and should have won. The Eagles found a way, and that is a very good sign.

The Colts sure did come back yesterday

If I am not mistaken (I haven't watched an NFL game all season),

The Panthers are going to the Superbowl!!!

WOOOOOOOOOO OWOOOOOOOO Celebrating 14 years straight of The Panthers going to the Superbowl!

If there's any consolation, they played a hell of a game yesterday. And they are getting better.

It almost makes me want to see Zorn stay. These players, despite knowing he's probably gone, despite how much he's been nutered, despite having no shot at the playoffs, despite having 5 former pro-bowlers out last game, are still playing their hearts out for this guy. I think it says a lot about the coach.

I do think we have some pieces. Devin Thomas, Malcom Kelly, and Fred Davis were all showing some good things yesterday. I'm hoping Marcus Mason can get a few more carries in the Saints game cause I want to see what he has in him against first stringers. Tryon isn't looking like quite as much of a bust anymore. Interested to see how Barnes steps up to play now that he'll have some chances. Haynesworth IS a legit beast and Orakpo is just a madman on the end.

I'm not even THAT down on Jason Campbell. I think he can be an above average QB if given a semblance of a running game and an O-Line. He's no Peyton Manning, but I don't think he's a Kyle Bowler either.

But yet at the same time there's so much the team needs to do to right this ship, and a lot of it is along that O-Line and I think getting a legitimate RB because I think Portis's day are well behind him.

well, i am a very happy colts fan. even without freeney and sanders, we're okay. could run the regular season table.

i saw that game......i feel very sorry for cutler.

Let's see how my Patriots look after tonite's game against the Saints.

The Bears look pathetic. Tashah was right.

The Bears are pathetic, but the second part of your statement is due to coincidence. heheh

One good thing about this season was that coaches and such seemed to be able to hide behind a bad offense. But now we have Cutler, Forte, Hester, Knox, Olsen, etc. Yeah, we need an actual #1 (use Hester as a slot); but we have a lot of talent (baring the O-Line). And now we see, that the offensive coaching and planning particularly is BAD. Bad bad. Ron Turner has zero clue as to what he's doing or how to use Cutler well and it's obvious now. Lovie...I love the guy, but maybe it's time for a change. He needs to put his foot down, get emotional; and I don't think we're going to see that from him. I need a receiver and an O-Line and pretty much a completely new coaching staff. Bears can be good, Cutler will be good for us, we just need to assemble some competent coaching to do it.

We should've gone after Mike Shanahan.

you're right, hester is no #1 and turner is a joke.

We should've gone after Mike Shanahan.

I've lived in Colorado for some time now, and I'm not on the Shanahan boat at all. I don't think he's a great coach. He can run running backs into the ground, sure, but he also got lucky with some of the talent on his team.

Nice post, Zyph. I really think Zorn should stay.

Same can be said for Westbrook... Brian, not his Redskin brother. I think he had a couple more solid years ahead of him, but concussions are serious business. I would not be surprised if he retired.

The Pack is in the wildcard hunt. 3 losses(2 of them to Butt Favre and the Vikings) are against good teams(the other being the suprising Bengals). 1 inexplicable loss to the crappy Tampa Bay Bucs. Defense is banged up but Charles Woodson is everywhere. Aaron Rodgers is one of the better QBs in the league thus far. If the line can get better at pass protect, we might make some noise.

Keep Westy but make McCoy the starter. Westbrook is dangerous enough to make an impact as the #2 back, but versatile enough to not make it obvious what you're doing when you have him in. Plus may make him less likely to get injured
