Sure looks like the investigation is getting awful close to Trump himself.

Donald Trump Jr. texted Mark Meadows ideas on how to overturn the 2020 election: report

Donald Trump Jr., former President Donald Trump's eldest son, texted then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows ideas to overturn the 2020 results before most major news networks had called the election, according to a CNN report published Friday.

"It's very simple," Trump Jr. wrote in a text message to Meadows on November 5, 2020, two days before the major news networks declared Joe Biden the winner. "We have multiple paths We control them all."

The messages are part of a trove of records being examined by the House select committee investigating the January 6 Capitol siege, CNN reported.

Sadly it's unlikely to make any difference.

The House dog and pony show didn't do you any favors by leaking this stuff. This stuff won't get you a cup of coffee...anywhere.

In other words...it's a nothingburger.

How do you know? They haven't all been revealed yet.

What do they deduct if you don’t ring in by #2 or #3?

TURN THE investigation over to the FBI and select a Federal Grand Jury.

I saw this reported on MSNBC tonight.

He keeps calling it a "dog and pony show" and I keep asking him how that could be since it isn't televised or known. To which he just ignores it and repeats his bullshit.

Mycroft demonstrates once again that he remains firmly in the Trump could shoot someone on 5th avenue and not lose any supporters camp.

Which is why Republicans must never be allowed to control the Federal government again. Their voters won't accept election defeat anymore, as they proved on Jan 6. Therefore, Republican members of Congress will not accept election defeat anymore. Even the ones who know Biden won are too spineless to stand up to the insane Republican base.

They also will not allow a Democratic President to appoint a Supreme Court Justice if they have a majority in the Senate. (I never read that was a clause in the Constitution.)

The more I think about it, the more I see Republicans as a danger to American democracy.

Yeah, and that's one reason I'm getting pretty fed up with Biden. He constantly talks about what a threat Putin is to world peace, but he needs to be talking A LOT more about the threat posed by the Republican Party here at home. Before it's too late.

The problem is Biden has spent most of his political career being cordial and friendly with Republicans, but this is not the Republican Party of 20 - 30 years ago.

Senator Schaltz ripped Josh Hawley on the Senate floor on Thursday, for all of his despicable actions over the past couple of years.

This raises some questions: Why don’t Democrats create moments like this more often?

Are there other ways of getting loud, as Schatz did here, that don’t degrade our politics and are substantively and politically productive?

We don’t hear enough from Democrats putting down hard emotional markers indicating that at moments like these, something is deeply amiss, and something unusually absurd and depraved is happening.

As Josh Marshall argues, staking out such ground at a minimum lets voters know that an honorable position exists amid the daily sludge, and that such Hawley-esque levels of bad faith are fundamentally unacceptable.

The investigation is getting close to Trump himself? Like…what?

This is the consequence of the trump presidency: an impossible and constantly-moving standard has been created for what could constitute reasonable evidence of Trump crimes. He’s guilty. He’s been guilty forever. And if he’s not guilty enough now, then he’s not going to be guilty no matter how many dead hookers he’s caught on camera standing over with a bloody knife in his hand.

Biased tripe.

*Trump murders troop of Girl Scouts with flame thrower*

DOJ: “Okay okay fine, we’ll open an investigation…into his unpaid parking ticket from 1998.”

WTF is going on over there?

Who gets an indictment first, if at all, Meadows or the most recent House referrals, Scavino, Navarro.

IIRC, Meadows referral was over three months ago……
