Texas: 9 Dead Bikers in Gun Shootout at Twin Peaks restaurant[W:33]

Re: Texas: 9 Dead Bikers in Gun Shootout at Twin Peaks restaurant

I'll keep that in mind in case I run into a gang like that and I don't have my normal arsenal with me:mrgreen:

I know. I just laughed at the premise of a Texan blaming the federal government for crime in their state. I'm guessing Fenton doesn't think crime is a state's issue?

The local news (Channel 12 Cincinnati, CBS) is reporting the following

1) the Twin Peaks establishment has been ordered to stop serving booze for a week

2) the parent company is severing some ties with it

3) "the police are ARMED AND READY" for any potential retaliation

4) it is UNCLEAR if those killed were killed by the police or other bikers or a combination thereof

What I have heard it was 4 of the 9 dead bikers were shot by police.

Native Indian you will if you come out here to New Mexico. Biker gangs all over out here. Lots of latino and native mixed gangs.

Where in NM are you?

From what I understand it started inside and the cops were just picking off armed shooters that spilled out into the parking lot.

Nice. I just bought some acreage over the mountain near the base of Hermits Peak.

there's not too many outlaw MC's for black... there's plenty of 99% clubs, though.

Hispanics, native Americans, and white boys can be found in nearly all clubs.. but the black outlaw MC thing pretty much disappeared back in the 70's... the Chosen Few is about the closest you'll come.. they are fully integrated.. all colors welcome.

I made some runs with Soul Brothers ( integrated, but mostly black) out of Vegas...50-60k in their scooters, all were just regular old workin' men.. great bunch of dudes .

I’m not sure why you’re going after Fenton for saying he’s surprised that this happened or that the feds used to spend a lot of resources infiltrating gang operations except that it's an excuse to rant about Texas.

I don’t know what the facts are on federal interest in/expenditure on gang crimes. I’d like to think it’s significant given the role played by biker gangs in distributing cartel drugs. Do you know the facts?

I don’t think it’s right to blame the feds or the state or local LEOs either. They were prepared, and my uneducated guess is that there was good cooperation beyond the state level.

Why you are so hostile about Texas I don’t know, but if you think that those who think the Civil War was fought primarily over states' rights are limited to Texans, you're mistaken. And this thread isn't about that anyway.

You criticize Fenton for blaming the feds “and by extension Obama” for this gang shootout, but look what you’re doing.

I'm absolutely certain both federal and local law enforcement knew something was afoot... the feds issued a bulletin prior to the meeting laying it all out... that's why local PD was so close to respond.

it's a damned shame it had to happen at a function where other clubs(99%ers) were attending ( TCCI meeting)....

8 dead Cossacks and 1 dead Bandito later, here we are.

Re: Texas: 9 Dead Bikers in Gun Shootout at Twin Peaks restaurant

The ATF knew.

Re: Texas: 9 Dead Bikers in Gun Shootout at Twin Peaks restaurant

Thanks, I don't really keep up with the latest biker news since I got out of LE.

Re: Texas: 9 Dead Bikers in Gun Shootout at Twin Peaks restaurant

Dog bite's man. = Not newsworthy.
Man bites dog. = Front page news.

So much violence happens in communities surrounding MLK Blvd that it isn't considered news at all anymore. Unless, of course, it's a white cop that pulls the trigger.

The Bandidos were fearsome even back in the '70's.

Very true, if memory serves me right (I like reading about sub cultures of all sorts), the Bandidos were founded right behind the initial "Big Three" of the Hells Angels, Pagans and Outlaws. As you mentioned, they were also founded as committed outlaw bikers, not as a psuedo riding club. Like some of the other groups, they have tried to clean up their image - to a degree.

One recent president even expelled three members who ambush stabbed and killed a popular boxer following some sort of "You looked at my girl friend- now you gotta leave the party, and we are keeping your party toys" type dispute. I think he also even allowed club members to testify against the former members citing that the "disrespect" shown by the boxer did not warrant uhmmm.... that kind of violence and that as the boxer was unarmed, confronting him with a knife was also cowardly.

Is there nothing that stops gang members from getting conclealed gun permits or do they have to of committed a crime?

My general impression is that unless they have been convicted of a disqualifying criminal offense, or are a psychiatric reject, they can still get permits.

Also, the legal definition of "gang" is pretty exacting and in California at least, the group had to be orgainized explicitly for criminal activity to have the anti gang legislation apply to members. It might be difficult to show that the modern 1% Biker groups are explicitly orgainized for criminal activity- though they may have some, or many, individual criminal members.

Wow, that death toll may mean the end of the Cossacks as a viable biker group.

I imagine that it is very important for these biker groups be able to demonstrate that they can "give as good as they take" and that they can also protect their own members. An 8-1 Cossack to Bandido death ratio does not demonstrate either one. I cant see those numbers giving potential Cossack recruits alot of confidence.

Your statements are nothing more than racial stereotyping, and enforcing socially race based privileges for Asians.

It surprises me to hear so many US citizens, making tons of benevolent racial stereotypes about Asians. When I go to other countries with large amounts of Asian migrants, like Australia, they talk as bad about Asians as Americans talk about blacks and Mexicans.

The least prejudice attitude would be to judge your doctor by their skills, not the color of their skin.
