Just wow. I guess a guy like Comstock does exist somewhere out there. Scary!

Right-wing group The National Liberty Foundation, a Florida-based political collective associated with the conservative Tea Party, is posting anti-immigration propaganda from Bioshock Infinite, originally designed to satirize real-world conservative politics.

They used this.

Tea Party Facebook group begins posting Bioshock Infinite propaganda | Polygon

I don't get the outrage. I see far more extreme things on Tea Party pages.

An incredible game. Easily a 10 out of 10. If they knew anything about the serious they would now that the first Bioshock actually took shots at Liberalism.

Actually, it was BioShock 2 that took the shots at liberalism.

I can find no independent verification that this "National Liberty Foundation" exists.

There's a National Liberty Federation, but they do not appear to be the same thing. They certainly aren't posting anything from BioShock on their website or their Facebook page.

Same here. The name doesn't turn up any web pages I've found, and the link in the OP no longer works.

ETA: They don't seem to have a Facebook page either.

So who's the hoaxer? Polygon, or someone else, perhaps on Facebook?

Perhaps due to shoddy reporting the name was confused. It could refer to the National Liberty Federation.

Is this one of those facebook groups that allows anyone to post pictures in the group's albums? If so, it would be hard to demonstrate that this isn't either someone trolling them OR just one guy who made a very stupid mistake.

Facebook groups make stupid mistakes all the time. This is why we can laugh at them, knowing it is perhaps a small group of average people who don't get it.

Then again, since the Tea Party is made up of average people, I would not hesitate to join my populist comrades in berating the average American Tea Partier: because they are average dumbass Americans who post things on Facebook and gather in groups with sticks and not-so-clever musings attached to said sticks.

Here is there facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/libertyheadquarters Fun stuff. And here is there statement about this:

To all the publications and visitors to our site who wrote about our post of December 14th, regarding the "BioShock Infinite" Propaganda.

We have a zero tolerance policy on racism and have removed the post, as it has done its job. We are not the "Red Cross" and firmly believe that the Constitution and the future of America is at stake. The reality is our voice is rarely heard in the media let alone in DC. Thus we are and will remain unapologetically Constitutionalists.

We want to let you know you brought us the best site advertisement we've had all year... We were litterally flooded with new people not only laughing at us, which we expected, but also congratulating us on seeing things differently and having the guts to post it...

We invite all the media to visit us whenever you need a good story and hopefully all the hordes of people will follow you as well... It's time they heard the other side of DC politics and if our plan works, we should be gaining many new readers now that they know we're here.

One more thing MSNBC, we are the National Liberty Federation, not the National Liberation Foundation... Get it right next time!!!

So apparently they are claiming they just posted it to get attention...

You might be right. It's been a while since I played the first two.

Yeah, first one was basically "Here's Ayn Rand's desired world: thunderdome hellscape"
