Remember in 2012 when gun ownership became illegal in Venezuela? How did that work out for Venezuelans?
Probably because dictatorships start by eliminating private gun ownership.not sure those few weapons would have mattered against that evil dictatorship. Few dictatorships have ever been overthrown by private gun ownership.

asymmetrical warfare seems to be a topic few understand on this boardThat is nonsense, most countries do not have the same extremist gun ownership levels that the US has and mostly dictatorships start with the Military or leaders with the help of the Military take power, and if you have 10,000 (for example) people with rifles in a country and for example the military of Venezuela which has 63,000 soldiers with 60 self propelled Howitzers, pulled howitzers, loads of mortars, rocket launchers, 365 tanks, unknown number of French light tanks, 10 attack helicopters, add to that assault rifles, machine guns, sub machine guns and loads of guns and weaponry, and that is just the Venezuelan army.
Add to that the 23,000 members of the National guard and 3.2 members of the Bolivarian Militia of Venezuela. The 3.2 members of the Militia are armed with sig sauers and beretta's, hundreds of thousands of assault rifles and plenty of machine guns.
And the 23,000 national guard members have assault weapons and German and Chinese personnel carriers.
If you have even 30,000 people with a rifle or a gun, they would be wiped out by the armed forces of Venezuela. Guns are not going to stop an army if it is behind a dictator.

You've completely changed the subject. It's common for dictatorships eliminate private gun ownership, which may be why you failed to address it.That is nonsense, most countries do not have the same extremist gun ownership levels that the US has and mostly dictatorships start with the Military or leaders with the help of the Military take power, and if you have 10,000 (for example) people with rifles in a country and for example the military of Venezuela which has 63,000 soldiers with 60 self propelled Howitzers, pulled howitzers, loads of mortars, rocket launchers, 365 tanks, unknown number of French light tanks, 10 attack helicopters, add to that assault rifles, machine guns, sub machine guns and loads of guns and weaponry, and that is just the Venezuelan army.

my CV has a much stronger academic resume. I had no desire to be a media whore

As far as the subject you chose to address instead, military superiority of the government fighting the civilian population on their own turf, I have three words for you: Vietnam. Iraq. Afghanistan.
No, because it is irrelevant because no lightly armed populous will ever over throw a well armed military.
...and when a tyrannical government terrorizes the terrorists, it almost always wins.
Yes, that's why Saigon is the capital of a United Vietnam. No, because it is irrelevant because no lightly armed populous will ever over throw a well armed military.
It may cost thousands of victims but most rebel/terrorist groups always seem to fail in their objective. Killing thousands in the process and the government that chases them will kill even more than that to get to the "rebels". IRA, ETA, Shining Path, etc. etc.".
Well an out-and-out civil war would kill way more than that.
Yes, that's why Saigon is the capital of a United Vietnam.
Yes, but as these dictatorial scum usually have the support of the armed forces and all the financial options to buy all the guns and weapons possible to fight "rebels", it is not likely that there will be a civil war.
It's never left the second amendment. Its one of 2 separate thoughts.I agree. It's time to put the well-regulated militia part back in the Second. This rampant private ownership of assault weapons is ridiculous. There is no need for people to have National Guard like arms.
What they fail to realize is that while it is asymmetrical warfare, the military does not have the advantage. Not when all of their beans, bullets, and band-aids comes from the civilian sector. Furthermore, there are only 1,385,727 active duty and 849,450 in reserve in the US military, while there are ~18 million former military veterans who received the same training.asymmetrical warfare seems to be a topic few understand on this board
The governments of many cities and states, always liberal/progressive mind you, are allowing violent rioting mobs to loot, burn, and destroy public AND private innocent buildings and businesses. People are being injured and even killed because of this appeasement approach. These same people, liberal/progressives, now have the balls to demand the tool that gives me the best chance of surviving one of these situations.
sounds about like the same odds of being killed by a mass shooter using an AR 15. so do you also want to ban ANTIFA protests? No, your best tool is a solid front door or your legs.
Guns are your best tool if you want to kill somebody
Don't you know that you have a 0.0000000001% chance of being caught up and injured in an Antifa protest ?
You've more chance of being hit by a UFO flown by Elvis.

Yes your post, but not the quote. Do you even remember what it was about? Hint 27th Amendment. Surf the arrow Rich. Not really as that was MY post.
