So it should have been obvious that Omicron represented a real threat to the hospital system in this country and we are currently well on the way to some real issues before Omicron peaks.

GET VACCINATED for God sake. Are you going to feel extra STUUUUPID if a relative cannot get into the hospital for a heart surgery because the ICU beds are choked with unvaccinated COVID patients and the relative subsequently dies? A news story made the rounds a week ago that had a male pelvic surgery patient released from the hospital developing a pelvic infection, far too often a problem for all pelvic surgery patients male or female. He could not get back into a hospital bed quickly enough to receive the super antibiotics that are fed intravenously in hospital settings as there were no available bed for him. Fifteen days after his initial surgery he was dead of sepsis.

Get vaccinated. It won't prevent transmission but it will very likely keep you out of a hospital bed if you do get it and is even more likely to keep you out of a coffin.

As for masks....I am going to get back on my soap box on this one again. As I have stated from the very beginning, now two years ago, we should all be wearing KN95's or N95's AND NOTHING LESS. Surgical masks in a pinch but only in a pinch. The rest of this CRAP I see out and about, fashion fabric masks, masks from makers of compression braces, gaiters are just that.....CRAP. FINALLY the public health system has ramped up a campaign to get people to use at least a KN95 stating what should have been obvious and stated as such as soon as there was enough manufacturing capacity out there to satisfy the need in KN95's or N95's.

I have co-morbidities to worry about. I am old as dirt for one thing. I am triple vaccinated and will not go into a public indoor setting without a KN95 and a backup surgical mask in my pocket in case I need it.

I would also urge all to keep in touch with YOUR person managing the voting in respective districts. Losing more than a million votes was most likely NOT in the cards. I suggest purging voters will be on a massive scale thus gathering all documents necessary to register again or to document at the voting booth that a person is legitimate. Experience taught me this endeavor will take time to replace.

Without purging the USA would not have had Bush/Cheney and certainly not Trump/Pence. What could be at stake makes whatever we need to do worth the effort. Yes my documents are ready and waiting .....

I've been wearing KN95s almost the whole time, but I started out with the blue surgical ones. But KN95s for almost 2 yrs. I couldnt get N95s or I would have worn those. The cloth ones were always kinda bullshit, the bare minimum that I think even let the govt 'feel better'.

But telling people anything is nearly impossible. They have their agendas and their confirmation biases and cant be convinced. Just look at my sig?

However IMO, the govt should be providing FREE N95s and KN95s to people, just like they're doing with home test kits now. THey should have supported domestic production and been pumping them out and into public circulation for more than a yr now. And yes, Biden could have done this. Re: reusability, they can be "easily" cleaned and re-used...there are videos and instructions online...it doesnt need to be an endless supply.
 
I have one member of my extended family who has refused the vaccine.

He's on a ventilator right now.

In fact the Administration is working through the details of handing out FREE KN95 or N95 masks to every citizen right now. But get this. You will likely not be surprised. Now that it appears that the Administration is actually getting close to doing something that has been tossed around now for close to two years, THE USUAL CONGRESSIONAL SUSPECTS are throwing up their hands in indignant outrage at the very thought.

Watch this space as I will likely comment again as I very much suspect this is going to turn into yet another very public and totally looney tunes dispute.
