SPLC Says Army Bases Are Confederate Monuments That Need To Come Down

(continuing)

how about this report RETURN OF THE VIOLENT BLACK NATIONALIST
During a single month last year, America witnessed two of the most horrific shooting attacks against law enforcement in recent memory.

On July 7, 2016, Micah Xavier Johnson ambushed Dallas police officers during a peaceful protest against police brutality, killing five officers and wounding nine others. Ten days later, Gavin Eugene Long shot six officers, killing three, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Both Johnson and Long were reportedly motivated by their strong dislike of law enforcement, grievances against perceived white dominance, and the recent fatal police shootings of unarmed black men under questionable circumstances, specifically the shooting deaths of Alton Sterling of Baton Rouge and Philando Castile in Falcon Heights, Minnesota. Although many Americans were understandably upset and angry over the deaths of Sterling and Castile, killing others as retribution is certainly not justified. Authorities would later learn that Johnson and Long had ties to black hate groups.

That same month, six Christian churches in St. Louis, Missouri, were either burned or vandalized. Graffiti left at the crime scenes made reference to “Negroes Are the Israelites,” “Wake Up!,” “The Real Israelites Are Rising.” These statements are indicative of Black Hebrew Israelite ideology, which portrays Christianity as “evil” and may point to motivation for the property destruction. As details developed about the Dallas, Baton Rouge and St. Louis attacks, it was apparent that a domestic terrorist threat had re-emerged — a threat not seen since the 1970s. This cluster of attacks would later signify the return of the violent Black Nationalist.

More on Micah Xavier Johnson
Dallas Sniper Connected to Black Separatist Hate Groups on Facebook

Micah Xavier Johnson, the man identified by police as the sniper who shot 12 law enforcement officers at a protest in Dallas last night, was a fan of black separatist hate groups monitored by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Johnson liked on Facebook the New Black Panther Party (NBPP), the Nation of Islam and the Black Riders Liberation Party, all listed by the SPLC as hate groups.

It looks like SPLC has found the number of Black Separatist groups (193) is greater than the percentage of black Americans in the general population - that's 193 out of 917 total hate groups or 21% of the total number. A bit odd that a group which supposedly only attacks good white Christians has more black hate groups on its list than the population would seem to justify.

"It's mission is to post targets for the hate groups it represents to attack" Interesting and irrational.

I wonder who would target the following groups:

Then there is the Jewish Defense League

and of course the Nation of Islam which is Black Separatist, radical Islamic and anti-Semitic

So, where are all the other hate groups that any rational thinking person would think belong on their hit list? Where is any antifa affiliated group? Look at their criteria for inclusion.

There is nothing irrational about my opinion on the SPLC. There is nothing irrational about the opinion of others regarding the SPLC.

Your statement about facts I've posted is not true.

The SPLC has nothing to do with identifying hate groups, per se. It's mission is to post targets for the hate groups it represents to attack. There is not objective process involved. This has all been proven.

The SPLC is a front for the Progressive Machine designed to silence any group it doesn't approve. It is a hate group of liberal fascists assisting the left to silence anyone not in their camp.

It is fantastic that their tactics and affiliations with the left's MSM are being exposed. My hope is they are sued into non-existence.

this post is code for damn those minority folks.

SPLC sued into non-existence? One could only hope for such a thing.

I agree, their mission is honorable, how they go about achieving that mission far less so. Much the same can be said for the ACLU as well.

when you post something has been proven it is time to pucker up.

I did basic and AIT at Benning and was stationed at Bragg. I have no problem with changing the names.

Should LSU rename Raphael Semmes Ave.?

I'm not familiar with that name, but streets are being renamed all over the country. Here in S. Florida we decided to rename 3 streets named for Confederates. The demonstration outside city hall had 150 people for changing the names and 1 person for keeping the names. The Confederate flag waving moron was arrested for assault and battery.

Keep it up and we'll be having another civil war. And the Libs will not be on the winning end.

It sounds like they are calling for an armed revolt.

:lamo

Now Vern, I am not a conservative, nor did I believe the things you listed. The difference between closing the bases or renaming means nothing to me, SPLC is still trying to dictate who or what is acceptable. I stand by my statement.

Monuments are being moved and street/school/etc names changed via the democratic process. You are trying to dictate your ignorant opinion despite legitimate democratic means.

Raphael Semmes was the captain of the CSS Alabama, a Confederate blockade runner.

The LSU Tigers were named for the 1st Louisiana Battalion, a Confederate unit AKA the Louisiana Tigers.

Who cares? A traitor and foreigner killing Americans for slavery. That the US put down the last stand of Western slavers is a credit to the US. That the stand came from previously US states is a shame.

If that's true, then it's up to the community to decide if they want to keep the name. Perhaps there's enough history of the school to outweigh an unfortunate reference. The same cannot be contemplated regarding monuments which have no significant history of their own.

Should Yale change it's name?

Anyone who wants to can. Addressing people by the name they call themselves is worth the occasional misnomer intentional or not.

Eohrn, you say their mission is honorable but its how they go about it that makes you want them to no longer exist. How do they "go about it"? And remember eorhn, this thread was started based on an editorial that was lying about what the SPLC wanted. If the SPLC is so bad why did the daily caller have to lie? And the OP was nice enough to post a second lying dc editorial. So it seems that the conservative media is intent on lying about the SPLC. that doesn't seem honorable. Is it possible your dislike of the SPLC is based on the documented lies from the conservative media?

Your tone changed all of a sudden. It appears you only hate Southern slavers.

The issue at hand is not merely slavers, it's those who left the US, became a foreign nation and took arms against the US for slavery. It's about the last stand of Westerners willing to fight and die to own slaves. Not really different than ISIS, for the East, today.

Niiiiiice double standard! :lamo

Yes, bigoted double standards are. I couldn't agree more.

You also believe the NAACP, SPLC, Congressional Black Caucus and Affirmative Action are racist and double standards, right?

No you didn't. Are you trying to say the answer was "because they were from there"?

Again: they orchestrated the deaths of thousands of American soldiers. Why should they have an American base named after them? Tip: It's gotta trump the fact that they orchestrated the deaths of thousands of American soldiers.

Reconciliation.

Lets try this again

Isn't the SPLC a hate group, or just fake news?
