nope. A male can not "transition" into a female. Cosmetic surgery does not alter your DNA
Legally they can. They just should not be able to compete

...the World Health Organization has been actively working towards removing transgender identity as a mental disorder, and succeeded in May 2019. Similar to how homosexuality was considered a mental disorder until 1987, each decade our society finds a way to label and stigmatize against those who ‘deviate’ from the established social norm. Just as author Ian Hacking has suggested, we often try to ‘make up’ people; that is we try to find a biological, genetic, or evolutionary reason behind their ‘deviation’. Possibly because if we determine a reason, it makes it easier to justify the criminalization and dehumanization of their behavior."

(See 4th para):
they simply changed the name of the mental disorder. It's now called gender dysphoria.

So are black people. The purpose of the category, intended or not, is used to marginalize those in that category.

What you mean purpose of 'the category'? Like someone went looking for trans to put them in a category. Yes, blacks are a category; and a white person identifying as black is in a category of his own; he does not become black because he believes himself to be black.

That would result in discrimination against biological females

I guess you mean the Olympics and the NCAA discriminate against biological females, but doing so in the pros would increase discrimination?

nope. A male can not "transition" into a female. Cosmetic surgery does not alter your DNA

IYO, "a male can not "transition" into a female." I'll accept the opinion of the medical world. BTW, the surgery is both cosmetic for appearance and structural for function.

IYO, "a male can not "transition" into a female."
That isn’t an opinion. It’s biological fact.
I'll accept the opinion of the medical world.
They also know a male can’t transition into a female. Because cosmetic surgery doesn’t alter your dna.
BTW, the surgery is both cosmetic for appearance and structural for function.
Nope. If a man has his dick cut off and a slit constructed, he is still a man, he has no ovaries and can not ovulate.

they simply changed the name of the mental disorder. It's now called gender dysphoria.

The diff is before the mental disorder was automatically applied to trans and now is only upon diagnosis, not based solely on having transed. It also applies only to those who've retained their original sex organs. Not to those who've fully transed.

If you believe you are something that you are probably not, you are by definition and diagnosis delusional.
It also applies only to those who've retained their original sex organs. Not to those who've fully transed.
It applies to both. So does delusional disorder.

Another question:

Should normal females be forced to compete against female-to-male transgenders in all sports?

Yes.

If you believe you are something that you are probably not, you are by definition and diagnosis delusional.

It applies to both. So does delusional disorder.

Believing in who you are now vs what you were at birth is not delusional. The nuance of having cognitive dissonance and difficulty accepting who you've become is something for a professional to diagnose. Having confirmed yourself by gender, whether trans or recognizing what you always were, or transformed by surgery is not definitionally delusional.

Gender dysphoria, as the name makes explicit, is to do with gender identity for having transed to one gender while retaining sex of your original identity. They are not my definition. Your definition has no basis in medical, biological or psychological recognition. You are probably deluding yourself if you believe otherwise.

They aren't. Nobody forces anyone to compete in sports in the USA.

That's right. They can choose to not participate in sports at all. The Kunta Kinte option. No good choice.

Believing in who you are now vs what you were at birth is not delusional.
If what you believe you are is provably false, yes that is delusional.
The nuance of having cognitive dissonance and difficulty accepting who you've become is something for a professional to diagnose.
There is no nuance. It's biology, controlled entirely by your DNA.
Having confirmed yourself by gender, whether trans or recognizing what you always were, or transformed by surgery is not definitionally delusional.
You can't transform via surgery.
Gender dysphoria, as the name makes explicit, is to do with gender identity for having transed to one gender while retaining sex of your original identity. They are not my definition.
I know. It's a medical definition.
Your definition has no basis in medical, biological or psychological recognition.
It is based in all 3.
You are probably deluding yourself if you believe otherwise.
It's not a matter of belief. It's biology.
