I empathize too - I also think staying in their home countries and fixing their home countries is very important. 750,000 homeless in USA, 36 million poverty, 13 million kids food insecurity, .... we have many many problems HERE we need to solve. We cannot fix all the countries in the world and their poverty issues and bad conditions, we simply cannot.I basically empathize with the reasons behind their illegal plight. In a perfect world every immigrant could enter the US legally, as it stands, such a world doesn't exist.
I don't see it that way. Biden is responsible for adding many of them - I treat Biden and Obama and Trump all the same as far as questioning their means of deportations. unlike liberals who only want to point at Trump and never did the same with Obama and Biden. As far as Trump is concerned, cutting legal and ethical corners is his stock and trade. Trump is creating undocumented people. You appear to have zero concern over his legally questionable methods.... you're probably excited over them while fully supporting them.
RE: blatant hypocrisy.
The thing is that your focus on the illegality of foreigners appears suspiciously cherry-picked....a politically charged, faux rage.
Would you actually give two shits for immigration if it wasn't on the political radar?
No, California merely has an incredibly stupid governor. But CA doesn't have the ridiculous gerrymandering that Ohio does,
Being in the country illegally is....um....against the law. Working while in the country illegally is even more against the law. So no, they are not law-abiding. By definition.
Now if we adjust those results of left and right leaning in the forum to match reality, what are the results?Gee, every leftist on the site--72% want a path to citizenship for illegals. Of course they do. That was the whole point of opening the border in the first place. Change the demographic makeup of the country and create a permanent underclass of democrat voters.
Which reflects the majority of the voters. No, California merely has an incredibly stupid governor.
Income taxes. FICA taxes etc. What taxes don't undocumented immigrants pay?
In objective reality.
Exactly.Which reflects the majority of the voters.

I have been an advocate of strong border for 20 years, this isn't new to me. Its amazing how its changed in the past 4 years with so many illegals in my area.
Why would they pay FICA? They can't collect Social Security.Income taxes. FICA taxes etc.
You asked what taxes they don’t pay. I answered you.Why would they pay FICA? They can't collect Social Security.
They pay sales taxes. They can’t pay property taxes because they can’t qualify for a loan in order to buy property, nor can they open a bank account. They pay property taxes and sales tax.
If they rent their rent includes a property tax component. They can’t pay property taxes because they can’t qualify for a loan in order to buy property, nor can they open a bank account.

They aren’t citizens. They don’t have social security or I9 numbers. They can’t open a bank account. If it's a couple, both working, why wouldn't they qualify?

Non-U.S. citizens are allowed to buy property in the U.S. regardless of whether or not they have legal documentation permitting them to be here. This means that foreign nationals, visa and green-card holders, and even those who have entered the country unlawfully can buy a home in the U.S.

They'll never admit it.You are pretty much making that up as you go along. The stats do not differentiate between right wing and left wing business owners.
So, are you suggesting that ICE checks for owner or CEO party registration before making a bust?
That's a very odd statement considering that your democrat party had its ass handed to it in the 2024 elections. The vote seems to be trending towards conservatism, not away from it. Young people included.

They always did and still have a path to citizenship. That is how all my ancestors became citizens. First you immigrate to this country legally and are granted immigrant status. Then if you don't become a criminal losing your immigrant status and get deported you are on your way to becoming a citizen. This has been the way it is done for over 100 years. It is the legal part that is the problem today. People with no respect for our immigration laws should be tossed out so law abiding people can immigrate legally. I have always supported our immigration process. I family members who have immigrated to this country and became citizens. They are living the American dream. No they are not criminals.Trump has recognized that undocumented immigrants are important for several industries and has backed off arresting and deporting them. I would argue that there are a lot more industries that need these workers to operate effectively.
Those immigrants who haven't committed crimes and are productively employed - should they be allowed to remain and given a path to citizenship?
