Why should Zelensky talk to people that do not make any decisions? Zelensky volunteered for a face to face meeting with the man in charge of everything in Russia. If Putin wanted a ceasefire or any negotiations for peace he needs to come himself. But we know the answer to that don't we?

"Negotiating teams" can't make any decisions and is a waste of time like it was in 2022 when Putin demanded complete capitulation of Ukraine. Actually it Ukraine that has been burning Putin's Soviet stockpile and suffering heavy casualties in men and equipment for every square Km they gain. Still Ukraine controls more of their country than they did in 2022.
