Russians will also be surprised to hear that. Or more likely they don't pay attention anymore. Same western propaganda going back to 2022. Russia economy is about to collapse. Russia has run out of weapons and is sending soldiers to battle armed with shovels. There is a run on Russian banks. ....

That's the next step towards a ceasefire. It may take weeks and more steps. Which is why the expectation that the meeting in Saudi Arabia would result in a ceasefire was premature.

At present the statements from the Europeans is a commitment to arming the Green Goblin. As they are not formerly part of Trump's diplomacy nothing is binding on them. And Russians have no reason to assume the Russophobic English will not keep doing what mad Lord Starmer vows daily to do: arm the Green Goblin to the teeth.

It may be time for Trump to bring Mad Lord Starmer on board. The Gallic Coq as well. They are small players. But not small Russia can just ignore them.

You have a point there. Offering Trump a much better commodities deal is an obvious powerful card in Russia's hand. Russia has way more than Ukraine. Russia's offer has the advantage over Ukraine's in that it's not speculative pie in the sky. Ukraine's offer is in regions that may be troubled by insurgency for years after major combats are over

Speaking of lies....Hitler said he invaded Poland and Czechoslovakia to protect the German speakers who were being persecuted. Putin said a similar thing about Russian speakers in Ukraine. Why was Hitler wrong but Putin was not?

They have few options but to put up with it...or revolt. And they are aware of how brutal their govt can be. Doesnt mean they wont be pushed past their limits tho...the eligible Russian men are mostly used up, now they're going to other countries for troops.

No, they wont be doing those things before a ceasefire. And yes, an agreement might take that long.

They do "occupy" that territory. It wasn't theirs to "occupy". It was sovereign territory of another nation, and it seems that you are perfectly fine with rewarding the behavior that got us to this point. I just can't for the life of me figure out why.

They should walk away because they took it by force.

You say one thing...then prove you dont understand it in the next sentence.

Take away your moral poutrage and examine the world from a real perspective. When wars are fought there is invariably a winner and a loser. The winner dictates terms. This is not your war. its not my war. This is a war between Ukraine and Russia. Russia has made gains in Ukraine. In order to secure peace, the 'winner' gets to set terms. Think of it this way...you arent rewarding anyone...Russia is securing its gains in war.

Now...there ARE alternatives. No peace. fight to the death. Ukraine gets destroyed. More body bags...more mass graves. OR...you can go join them since obviously this seems to matter to you. OR...and this is what Zelenskyy wants...Europe can form an army and defeat Russia...which will invariably suck in other countries...and voila...WW3.
