Publisher of National Enquirer admits paying hush money to help Trump ahead of 2016 election

I'll just refer you to my post at #228

228:

228 insists upon binding Trump to Cohen and Pecker legal decisions. All it does is indicate SDNY wants to go after Trump. Cohen's own statement indicates he was motivated to help Trump avoid any personal embarrassment.

'Hereabouts' does not matter. This debate does not exist purely in the confines of these forums for our solipsistic pleasure. We do not have to 'prove' anything here on this matter because a federal court has already determined it: Cohen and Trump (Individual-1) covered up campaign contributions.

Federal prosecutors clearly did find the affair pertinent to the election (not illegal as you say) and therefore tied to the payments (still not illegal) which were not disclosed (that's the illegal bit).

The facts of the case matter and that case, at least for Cohen, has been decided in a court of law: Individual-1 directed his lawyer Cohen to pay off a mistress and hush it up to help Individual-1's presidential campaign, and in failing to disclose this payment, the two were violation of federal campaign finance law. The lawyer has been convicted and sentenced. Individual-1, now the sitting president, has not yet been indicted, but there is now little question of his guilt: his part in the payoff is a matter of court record.

The facts of Cohen and Peckers plea are not binding on Trump. He doesnt have to accept the theory of the prosecution.

Mueller's key democrat attack dog, Weissenstein, has had several of his notorious cases unanimously overturned by courts with even liberals in the mix. He ruined many lives and never had to answer for his sins because he was never prosecuted for false arrests and imprisonment based upon biased trumped up charges. Mueller has his own evil track record. To hell with unjust judges, lawyers and prosecutors who call evil good and good evil.

When he first tried to enlist in the Marines for Viet Nam, he was blocked by medical. He spent a year rehabbing his knees and enlisted. #45 got an exemption for a "bone spur" but couldn't tell a reporter, on film, which foot it was in.

You think everyone persecuted by the Spanish inquisition got what they deserved?

You keep referring to persecution of the innocent like Spanish Inquisition and Salem Witch Trials. After consulting with my friend Occam, I see it more as prosecution of the guilty like: ABSCAM, Al Capone, John Gotti, Tennessee Waltz and Watergate.

Live by your own sword or die by it but as of right now there in no criminal indictment of Trump either. You wanna declare all of them topics out of bounds for discussion or are you more comfortable picking and choosing? It wasnt rhetorical but you dont need to bother to answer. I'm feel pretty safe in assuming your position.

I never said there was an indictment of trump (and it’s DOJ policy not to indict a president). But if you have the least bit of intelligence it’s very clear the man surrounds himself with people that are up to no good, and from just the last few days we know that SDNY is at the very least probing trump world finances. If I were to make a gamble I would bet a man that surrounds himself with criminals and who is being probed with several investigations is probably in some trouble. The judge even admitted that trump directed Cohen to commit a crime. You wanna debate that too? Because It’s not debatable. But go ahead, mention Obama and Clinton again if it truly makes you feel better. At some point you’ll have to come to terms with reality.

So what? Funny how liberals always want to hold Republican's to standards that they would never hold Democrats to...

As Mueller was considered for FBI director by the Bush administration, the Washington Post reported that he was a registered Republican.

No it really doesn't, but if that's all you got out of it, OK.

I don't give a crap what the WaPo reported....His voter registration is far less important to his actions...And as an un indicted co conspirator in the Uranium deal, as well as the cesspool of democrats he surrounds himself with, he is at best a progressive Republican, probably a lying Democrat that only registers like that so that liberal dupes have the talking point you just tried to use....

Of course he doesn't and in any legal proceeding he gets to lawyer up (though as noted it's getting harder to find people to defend him). However it has been demonstrated in court at least once, and soon to be twice with this new evidence, that those who paid hush money did so at the direction of Trump and did it to protect his campaign. They've got him on tape even.

He is now arguing of course that it was just regular hush money and not a campaign expenditure, but a couple of things make that thin and, (in my humble opinion to be fair) unlikely to hold up in court:

- First he could have paid off these mistresses years earlier if it was just to protect his family; instead he waits till after he has the nomination and is running for president.

- Secondly the associates responsible for handling the payment have all come out and admitted in court or to prosecutors it was for the campaign;

- Third, duh, he's constantly lied about it (first no affair, then no money paid, then it's not for the campaign, then it's not his idea, blah blah blah) so there's no reason to believe him on this anymore.

Concoct, definition: What Hillary and the dirty DNC gang did to come up with the Trump/Russian collusion conspiracy theory gobbled up by so many American democrat Jonathan Gruber tribal Stupidites.

Another tu quoque. Are you attempting to start a Hillary thread? CT section is down the hall.

Speaking of talking points, do you get your alternative facts from Breitbart?

Nine federal agencies were required to approve the Uranium One transaction before it could go forward.
Assistant Secretary of State Jose Fernandez represented the State Dept. on CFIUS
The committee can’t veto a transaction; only the president can.

Hillary's lying Steele Russian dossier and subsequent democrat lies about a supposed Trump/Russian collusion conspiracy are not even worthy enough to be listed in the CT section. There needs to be a new conspiracy fiction theory section for that.

How it all began:
In October 2015, before the official start of the 2016 Republican primary campaign, The Washington Free Beacon, an American conservative political journalism website primarily funded by Republican donor Paul Singer, hired the American research firm Fusion GPS to conduct general opposition research on Trump and other Republican presidential candidates. The Free Beacon and Singer were "part of the conservative never-Trump movement". For months, Fusion GPS gathered information about Trump, focusing on his business and entertainment activities. When Trump became the presumptive nominee on May 3, 2016, The Free Beacon stopped funding research on him.

"Some of the dossier's broad threads have now been independently corroborated. U.S. intelligence agencies and the special counsel's investigation into Russian election interference did eventually find that Kremlin-linked operatives ran an elaborate operation to promote Trump and hurt Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, as the dossier says in its main narrative."

After one year:
Verified: Former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page met with representatives of Russian state-owned oil giant Rosneft.
Verified: The Kremlin targeted educated youth and swing state voters during its cyber attacks in the 2016 campaign.
Verified: Trump maintains ties to rich businessmen from Azerbaijan.
Not proven: Russia had been cultivating Trump for years, or at all.
Not proven: Trump was offered real estate deals in Russia and turned them down.
Not proven: Trump's lawyer worked as an intermediary between Trump and Russia.

None of the federal agencies involved with Uranium One got a $100 million donation from Giustra like Hillary did. What a bonus she got for hers and Bill's help.

Trump's political enemies hired professionals to dig up dirt on Trump for politically selfish reasons. A good investigator should be able to find dirt on anyone, given enough time and money. Fusion GPS could not find enough dirt on Trump to satisfy the DNC without lying so they lied. Some of what they reported may have been partly or completely true, but far too much was not.

Did Russians take out advertising in America in favor of Trump? Maybe, but so what? Is that now a crime?

Page met with Russians? Big friggin deal. Is that also a crime now? Mueller's democrat witch hunt team must not think so because they haven't touched Page at all the whole time.
Verified: The Kremlin targeted educated youth and swing state voters during its cyber attacks in the 2016 campaign.
Russians targeted voters in cyber attacks? What does that even mean? Did democrats also target voters? What sort of hacking? Who even knows what that propaganda is referring to exactly?

Verified: Trump maintains ties to rich businessmen from Azerbaijan.

Itemize please. I don't see investigating mobster activity in the white house as "bad."

Mobsters in the white house? Maybe you do know something about political history in America.

Let's see, upstanding citizen #45 has:
- Failed to pay contractors what he owed.
- Failed to pay lawyers what he owed.
- Failed to repay loans until the only bank that would write him one was (the convicted of Russian money laundering) Deutsche Bank (who gave him a loan while he was suing them in order to not repay his current loan!)
- Sold an unimproved property in Florida to a Russian for twice what he paid – in a down market.
- Rented a floor in his tower to a Russian mob gambling ring.
- Been recorded on tape ordering his lawyer to commit a felony for him.
- Been filmed admitting obstruction of justice in firing Comey to make the "Russia thing" go away.
- Been taped bragging he can get away with sexually assaulting women because he is rich.
- Acted in the interest of his business rather than the country.

Of the $145 million allegedly contributed to the Clinton Foundation by Uranium One investors, the lion’s share — $131.3 million — came from a single donor, Frank Giustra, the company’s Canadian founder. But Giustra sold off his entire stake in the company in 2007, three years before the Russia deal and at least 18 months before Clinton became secretary of state.

Let's see, the Muslim #44 occupant of the WH:

- Refused to allow victims of the Muslim terror attack at Ft. Hood to receive benefits given to service victims of the war on terror.
- Refused to call Muslim terror attacks acts of terror.
- Refused to honor Jewish leaders while honoring Muslim leaders.
- Gave Syria $195 million in aid on a Muslim holiday to show sympathy for Muslims in Syria.
- Gave Iran $1.7 billion to use as they saw fit while continuing their worldwide campaign of hatred for Americans.
- Condemned a decorated white cop for arresting an unruly black professor by the book.
- Condemned George Zimmerman for defending himself from a violent assault from a head-banging thug Obama thought looked like him.
- Condemned police officers for doing their jobs.
- Lied about Benghazi.

And many, many more acts of open disrespect for God, Christianity, the Bible, Christians, Jews, and Biblical influence and values in American history.
