I'm confused, Are Democrats now in favor of funding a systemically racist police force? I thought that was contributing to crime. I thought they wanted less police.

Democrats are composed of millions of individuals, each with their own opinions about things, and sometimes you will have internal debates.

Increasing police budgets, allowing police to operate without accountability and training them to be a militarized, occupying force has not been successful in most crime ridden areas, which tend to be highly racially segregated ghettos with high poverty rates. One could argue this actually increases crime because the people in those communities don't trust them, making crimes harder to solve.. We seem unwilling to look at other possible solutions.

So we agree... The source of criminals is what we define as a crime... For instance, if we defined drug possession as health matter instead of as a crime, what would happen to the crime rate? Do we protect society by imprisoning someone who merely possess illegal drugs?

All any city need do is to elect the right leftists to reduce crime. You just do what the great city of Los Angeles has done. Have George Soros spend two million to get a socialist DA elected. What you do is not prosecute minor offenses such as shop lifting under $950.00 and simple battery where someone beats you up but you’re still alive. You don’t need hardly any police then and you just need desk workers who barely passed high Skool to take a report. Problem with crime solved and then the leaders talk about how crime has plummeted in the black communities under their leadership.

And we can all see what a spectacular success the right wing has had on crime... So much so they sent their criminals to DC on Jan 6th for a celebration... It's pretty funny watching the "tough on crime" crowd whine and cry when Jan 6th insurrectionists were charged...
