Poll: 44% of Americans Worse Off Under Obama

I don't know much about baseball, but if anyone here knows anything about professional basketball, I have two words in response to this:

ISIAH

THOMAS.

would that be the same Medicare program that most liberals whine that the GOP wants to destroy?

I think it's a good program. What's stupid is that he cut taxes and had literally no way of paying for it.

And replace them with who? Libertarians?! ROFL!!

Obama has not "failed". We've put ourselves in a huge hole due to 30 years of Reagonomics, and we will not get out of this hole in one presidential term. Reagan failed us badly. Bush 1 failed us. Clinton absolutely failed us (most effective Corporate Republican president ever), but 'W' and Obama may not have failed us. History will tell us if 'W' was a good president of bad, but it is too soon to determine that, and it is certainly too soon to tell if Obama is doing a good job or bad job. 'W' made some big mistakes, some of the biggest in our history (Iraq), but he also prevented any terrorist attacks on our shores after 9/11, which he should be given huge kudos for. 'W' had a typical corporatist economic policy toward the recession (TARP) and in this way he and Obama are very much the same. In fact, aside from a few social issues and the ACA, it is hard to tell the difference between the two men in the actual policies that they have pushed forth.

Hmmm... strange... and Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilarious! :lamo

You know what Boo... you're right.
You are.
But damn it's funny to watch Libs try to defend Obama's incompetence.

Again Boo... You're right!

The government cannot control it, but they can influence it greatly, and Socialism... the expansion of government has been disastrous, and the more they tried to control, the more they try to organize our lives for us... the worse it gets. They cannot do it. It fails everywhere. It is costly.

It's what Conservatives have been saying. Limited government is the best government. Let people live their lives. Let the states run the experiments. Let government take care of their Constitutional duties of protecting the people and nation. Upholding law. Protecting our rights.

there was little differnece between how liberals view this and conservatives

little difference between paul ryan and debbie wasserman schultz?

LOL!

you don't know what you're talking about

Ah...so you MISSED the post right before mine that consisted of
"When George Bush entered office in Jan of 2001, the unemployment rate was 4.2%.
When he left in Jan of 2009, it was 7.6%.
That is an increase of 81%.

When Barack Obama entered office in Jan of 2009, the unemployment rate was 7.6%.
The latest figure for this May was 9.1%.
That is an increase of 19%
The rate of unemployment grown under Bush was over 400% higher than the rate of unemployment growth under Obama. That is improvement and great improvement."

Well...now is your chance...

Its OK...no need to reply...we know what time it is...

No, they really can't in our system influence it greatly. Some, but not greatly. If they could, they would, and we'd always have a great economy.

Now, as for less government? I can only judge what republicnas have done, and frankly the only difference between them is where they grow the government, where they intrude, what they spend on. Remember, you had a number of years with a republican president and congress.

Actually, I am dealing with reality and the reality that Obama inherited when he took office. And you would object to that for what reason?

Dood...why do poeple like you CONSTANTLY jump in about the president and IGNORE the fact that in that very post you cited I blamed Bush AND both partys in congress?

Who do you think was throwing the things I mentioned? The Repubs in congress have done everything they can to thwart everything the president has attempted. Even those things they came up with in the first place, as soon as Obama suggested them.

No compromise has been considered, only blind unswerving capitulation to the rights agenda has been accepted. "Extend the tax cuts or the unemployed get it!"

I'm not thrilled with bald obstructionism, that's what I was referring to.

Well...while you are ROFLYSAO...you might want to examine what the current and previous crop of clowns have done to (errrr...for) us. Oh...you might find Libertarians funny...so by all means...keep electing democrats and republicans. Come on....how can 15 trillion in debt and actual unemployment well over 20% POSSIBLY be a black eye on your two parties?

you don't KNOW romer and bernstein?

LOL!

the only difference between them is where they grow the government

you don't know PAUL RYAN?

these people aren't covered in the sydney morning herald?

Gotcha...so...you are other one of 'those guys'. Its always the republicans...its not the poor democrats fault they cant get anything done.

since the democrats are so incredibly inept that even when they own the house, senate and white house they cant so much as pass a simple operating budget...maybe YOu ought to considering replacing them with people that have a spine and some semblance of competence. Hey...find some replacement democrats since i know mindless ideologues vote for party at all cost... but for Gods sake...for the country's sake, for your great grandchildrens sake...STOP excusing the current crop of clowns. To be honest...you guys OUGHT to be embarrased. George Bush was such a dunce, yet he ran circles around the dems. The dems held majorities in all houses yet the republicans thwarted them. That means...your guys blow. hard.

Whether or not they would have helped the economy is a basis of ideology. If you don't feel something will be beneficial, why do it? Even the CBO and economists are split on how helpful or how a big a hinderance some of the successfully passed policies have been.

I'm an absolute supporter of expanding away from a two party system, so we do have some common ground. You're one of those here I tend to agree with except for level of intensity, if that makes sense. On some things at least.

But majorities are irrelevant if the minority party is willing to abuse the rules (filibuster) to thwart the majority. Which IS what the.Repubs have done.

And I don't habe an absolute loyalty to any party, I have voted for Repubs on occasion if I believe they will do a better job.

I think "think tank" conservatism is DESTROYING the America I grew up in. Their propaganda designers have been mind raping this society for decades. There's some crackhead ideas on the left as well, but they lack the amorality and uniformity of "message" enjoyed by the "think tank" right.

They're trying to catch up though, and I find the whole thing disgusting. So much so that I probably WOULD vote for a viable libertarian-style candidate if he refrained from veering right socially. Huntsman is actually interesting to me.

And just to be clear, I oppose the agenda supported by portable wealth as opposed to the agenda of wealth that depends on American paychecks, for what should be obvious reasons. And if all the govts going to do is defend property rights, enforce contracts and provide for defense, then how does that differ from feudalism to the average person?

I just tire of the republican vs dem thing. I left the republican party out of disgust, joined the Libertarian party and stopped going to meetings there because frankly Libertarian party meetings are as mindless as the other two parties. Id vote for an avowed Satanist if he or she was fiscally conservative and was more driven by what is right for the country than what is right for his or her self and their party.

Obama is doing a dismal job. Bush did a dismal job. Both parties in congress are doing a dismal job. As a citizen it is very frustrating. As a father and grandfather it downright pisses me off.

Your analogy fails since the reality Obama has to work with is NOT something new. It is the economy he inherited. It is not NEW.

And what he is doing is indeed working. The unemployment rate has reversed from its growth period.

Well, if that is truly the case, then why would anyone set themselves up as he did in the beginning by promising this trillion dollar stimulus would arrest job loss, and keep it at 8% or better? Why would anyone truly believe that in a time where his administration has so fouled up the numbers in even counting the unemployed. the number of 9% is clearly a lie. Obama's policies, and legislation seems more to be constructed to damage the foundation of free enterprise in this nation, and thus drive people to depend more on government than it does about prosperity among the masses.

I don't know about you, but that is NOT what I want.

It's who want government to fix it, conservatives and liberals alike, who government as being able to fix it who are to blame. Every president has spun it so, and too often take credit when fortune favors them. We let them. Ultmately, we're to blame.

If you have any definitive proof that the unemployment numbers are being counted using some illegal fraud, I would be happy to read it.

Well, good...If we take ownership of that can we move on from the blame game, and get er done? Because I think that American attitudes of instant gratification in credit markets is slowing, and people are becoming more personally responsible in their households. That is another reason why Obama will lose, because he hasn't grasped how to do that yet in policy.
