A disagreement between 2 homeless men, during a discussion on quantum physics, has landed one of them in the hospital, after the other one bashed him in the head with a skateboard.

Seems that one of the homeless men forgot an important principle of physics. Momentum = mass * velocity, which is why don't piss off somebody with a heavy object in his hand.

Personally, I believe in the holographic universe theory. Now quit bogarting that Mad Dog before I...... AIIIIEEE!!! You didn't have to hit me with that, did you?

Article is here.

Didn't read the article but hilarious premise.

From the article:

Fava also fell and broke his ankle, although how this happened wasn't known, authorities said.

Goddamnit! It was ****ing gravity, geniuses! Where's my skateboard!

Well......that's just f***ing retarded

SO these guys are smart enough to discuss quantum physics, but not smart enough to have jobs?

You give them too much credit. I believe they were discussing Star Trek episodes and calling THAT physics. LOL.

and that may be describing a related problem....our politicians think because they can SPELL energy policy that they must also understand energy issues....

Okay #1) Utah, you'll get no argument from me on that one.

2) That is funny as hell

3) I could just see the victim doing the math in his head just before he got knocked upside it by the skateboard. Homeless guy "Mass = 1.5g, velocity approx. 1.5mph, resisitence is unknown, so force should be......" POW.

soon to be demonstrated on an episode of "Big Bang Theory"....

A lot of these older homeless guys are pretty smart.
I met a lot of them because I didn't drive until I was pretty old, and rode public transportation for the majority of my life. A lot of them basically live at bus stops. And they don't mind talking to whoever's there.
Some of them claim to have university degrees, and I found no reason to doubt them. Nearly all of them suffered from substance abuse issues and/or mental illness, to one extent or another. Neither of those things wipes out everything you ever knew, though. They still know some stuff.

So true.

I know many an intelligent and well-educated person who've been redered homeless and/or jobless because of a) mental illness and b) substance abuse.

I believe that.

Story is still funny tho, b/c of the unexpectedness of it. The article has an update link - << Update: Transient found not guilty in skateboard attack >>

Apparently, the jury couldn't sort out the conflicting stories of the witnesses

I have no trouble believing that either!
