Petition to remove Custer statue

Let locals vote. That is all I really expect---these should be local decisions done by consensus, and not mob rule. We only have 1 statute in my city not in a cemetery but on public land that I know of. It is of a former Mayor. We have other monuments and things though. Even the art installations we switch out every few years are voted on by the public online. They acquire use of the top vote getters but decide themselves where each one goes as some pieces may not be suitable for some locations because they are too big for the existing pads or would block something etc.

It's not just about the confederacy, no. Confederate monuments are just the most common example.

We knew it was about the erasure of history, all along.

The history is still there, plenty of writing and literature on all of this.

I'd vote to put a Sitting Bull statue next to it (and maybe a plague with historical dialogue about their conflict).

It's only a matter of time until they go after Washington and Jefferson.

Yeah, like when they removed all those statues of Adolf Hitler in Germany in the 1940s. Sorry, you probably haven't heard of him, what without all the statues and all.

Time to destroy any history of the Comanche, the Creek, the Pawnee, the Iroquois, and all the other slave owning native tribes.

If America must be "fundamentally changed" and built over again, our history will have to be erased.

Do you know who Adolf Hitler is?

Was it because of a statue?

Did these tribes fight on the Confederate side like several Okiehoma tribes did?

Thank you for admitting that the American left considers historical America to be its enemy. Leftists are very obvious about this, but few will admit it explicitly.

Are you REALLY going to be selective about your hate and poutrage? Did Columbus fight for the Confederacy? These tribes and many others practiced slavery. Their existence must be banished.

There were no statues of Hitler, first off. Second, you're comparing George Custer to Hitler? :lamo

For the millionth time....taking down statues does not “erase history”.

Keep telling that lie:
