"People in the Dark Shadows"

OR, perhaps voting for a third party is the most conscientious thing a voter can do. Possibly, you think more cynically than I do as I think change in the current trajectory - of which few are satisfied - can only come from sincerity and not fear. Thanks!!

In the current system, a vote for a third party has only a symbolic result. In a close election it can be worse than worthless when one realizes that the real vote is to ensure the lesser of two evils from the parties that are going to produce the winner.

Symbology is nice. If you live in a state that is guaranteed to go one way no matter what, then feel free to express an opinion. If however enough people decide to do that then we will get more 2016's where a group of people refused to vote because they were upset at not getting their way and left us stuck with Trump.

Funny what people choose to hear. Trump obviously had intelligence that he couldn't elaborate on. He shoots from the hip. He's not eloquent, not measured, and he's not the the Wizard of Oz operating some scary persona. He's right out there, and what you see is what you get. And to a large degree, that's why he won.

Scary isn't it?

... what are dark shadows? Are they different than regular shadows? Arent shadows usually dark in one way or another?

Seems pedantic.

Black ops being run by the security agencies to push public opinion

Who would really believe that a bunch of Antifa people have the money to get a private plane with a bunch of other Antifa people and fly across the country.

My understanding was that the flight in question was a commercial one.

Again. It all sounds so good.

But the entire Citizens United debacle was in response to attempts to provide donors with anonymity.

It was the nonprofit type that allows 49% of donations to be used politically but donors are anonymous that huge numbers of applications came in for. Which was the reason the people who are supposed to check that kind of thing decided to use the words in the names to flag them. That is what their IG gigged them for. That doing it that way let people through who shouldn't have been and denied people who should have. They are supposed to look at each one individually. They did not.

But regardless, the only difference between 502(c)(4) and 527 is the former limits expenditures but hides donors. The latter allows all money to be spent on politics but exposes donors.

So lets not try to pretend the republicans are all out in the open, m'kay?

Keep this kind of messaging up and I'm gonna get suspiscious.

That's kinda annoying there, What if. I STATED that both Democrats and Republicans are after money, but explained what I find in the the elitist Democrat position to be so distasteful. It's because elitist Democrats deny it, and purport to be altruistic sweethearts doing the bidding of the poor and downtrodden which is hardly ever true. And when they do throw a bone to average Americans, there's a big price to be paid. Whereas Republicans are quite open about chasing money. They gladly predicate campaigns on advancing business interest and low taxation at the expense of social programs. It's no secret. Trump is pretty scary to both parties because he doesn't operate along predictable party lines. He wants to bring manufacturing home, something he shared btw with Sanders, who also supported small American manufacturing. And if there's anything career politicians detest, it's a maverick that doesn't adhere to talking points. Laws aren't going to change the secrecy surrounding donations because there's a multitude of ways to funnel money that isn't easily traced, but I do appreciate your explanation about the 502 versus the 527. Informative. Thanks!!

Any coincidence with reports that Mein Kampf is Trump's favourite bedtime read?

I just had an image of Melania reading it to him in that 'Soviet' accent while he gobbles fried chicken...in, bed, in front of the TV.

All your opinion. Okay, So in summary, you don't like Trump and apparently you don't like anybody that voted for him. In your view, they are all "low intellectual imbeciles," and Trump himself is a "moron." I understand your position. Thanks!!

I dont think they're all ""low intellectual imbeciles" but a lot of them are. A lot are also liars and racists. But one thing they all are, they are all people who flushed any values they had or pretended to have down the toilet to support him. Hey, you seem like a sharp guy, maybe you can help me out. I remember most if not all conservatives ranting and/or foaming at the mouth about deficits for 8 years under President Obama. Can you explain why every single conservative stopped ranting and/or foaming at the mouth about deficits once trump ballooned the deficit. And I'm not even talking about spending 3-4 times President Obama's stimulus. I'm talking about his normal budgets. thanks in advance.

Interesting...considering she isn’t running this year. Still using the 2016 copy and paste?

I don't think i did any cut and paste. Anyway, disappointing. I guess it's Howie then. Thanks!!

Funny what people choose to hear. Trump obviously had intelligence that he couldn't elaborate on. And as far as the "dark shadows" bit, he's simply describing the kinds of people he believes want to undermine the security of the country or his perception of the established free enterprise system. I can't believe that anybody is so naive as to think that there isn't big money being funneled to influence the elections, and I'm sure anonymity is coveted on both sides, so yeah, "dark shadows." So what?? Trump isn't a slick speaker - never has been - but that's his appeal to many. I think his opponents spend way too much time trying to read into what he's saying as if he were speaking in riddles. He's not. He shoots from the hip. He's not eloquent, not measured, and he's not the the Wizard of Oz operating some scary persona. He's right out there, and what you see is what you get. And to a large degree, that's why he won.

I'm not a proponent of the two party system. I think it's failing America by inhibiting average American representation and worse, tearing us apart. People think I'm an ardent Trump supporter because on occasions like this, I won't pick him apart. But his personality is what it is, and I don't take every word out of his mouth as some profound message. It's his policies and performance that interest me, not an image. And there's where I find the Democratic elite far more malevolent. These are people that try to manipulate public opinion through vague, sanctimonious bs, while doing the bidding of dubious global and corporate interests. They cherish their Hollywood parties as it's all about image and deceitful promises and of course, elitism. The best way to control a population is through dependency, and that is exactly what the Democratic top dogs would establish through oligarchic avenues.

I will probably vote Stein. I think her party has a rational platform and the humility to realize that the nation is on both a physical and political precipice. But mostly, we need a third party to counter the two party system that we have, and increasingly threatens to make our voices obsolete through its corruption and divisiveness. Thanks!!

Did he ever say how the plane managed to fly to and from D.C. at the same time?

So. An idiot.

Well, I can explain a lot of it in a word: Corona. Look, if you want to argue that Republican lawmakers are as irresponsible as the Democrats, you're probably right. But generally speaking, law abiding Americans in my view should be kept out of the noxious commentary. All this crap about "liars" and "racists" is not only not true, but it's pointlessly divisive and frankly, cruel. I may be frustrated with your point of view, but I hope I have enough backbone to at least TRY to be respectful, and not stoop to gross generalizations about average folks. I know you made a point of saying "some," but nevertheless, I'd like to leave voting Americans out of these discussions. Despite all the people I have differences with - and some I really don't like - I have yet to meet a "low intellectual imbecile." Thanks!!

We do indeed need a two party system this year more than ever so that we can vote for a party not currently in power that is attempting to change conditions to those that would make it increasingly difficult to remove them from power.

Additionally, any mention of a third party that cannot win the current election is a thinly veiled attempt to syphon votes from the non Trump party.

Exactly, I agree. Voting for a third party candidate in this election is voting for another four years of Trump. Those who truly don't want the Trump Party in for another four years should vote Democratic. My spouse and I will be voting for Biden and putting our ballots in drop boxes, as opposed to mailing them this year.

Well, I can explain a lot of it in a word: Corona.
Right, because all that extra spending happened since March.

But generally speaking, law abiding Americans in my view should be kept out of the noxious commentary.
It was not the criminals or convicts that elected him.

All this crap about "liars" and "racists" is not only not true
Bull crap, it is a sad fact.

but it's pointlessly divisive and frankly, cruel.
Reality can be.

I'd like to leave voting Americans out of these discussions.
Why? Aren't the voting Americans the ones that elected Trump and many still support him?

I have yet to meet a "low intellectual imbecile."
It is "low intellect imbecile" and all you have to do is go to a Trump rally.

sorry log, I was quite clear when I posted "And I'm not even talking about spending 3-4 times President Obama's stimulus. I'm talking about his normal budgets." so you dont get to pretend not to know I posted it. And even pretending I didnt post exactly what I posted, "Corona" doesnt explain it it because conservatives were constantly ranting and/or foaming at the mouth about President Obama's stimulus. So trump;s "corona" stimulus being 3-4 times President Obama's only further proves my point that all conservatives have flushed any values they had or pretended to have about deficits down the toilet to support trump. Your reply also proves you've flushed any integrity you had or pretended to have down the toilet.

And fyi, democrats are quite responsible (and consistent) about deficits. Republicans are flaming lying hypocrites and irresponsible with deficits.

Black ops being run by the security agencies to push public opinion

Who would really believe that a bunch of Antifa people have the money to get a private plane with a bunch of other Antifa people and fly across the country.
You'd be surprised at how many people who have never been anywhere think that way. The logistics of traveling across the US by oneself take minimum 1-3 days prep, a reasonably working car, health, etc.

The logistics of getting a thousand people on planes, and flying them in some super secret way, for an ideological purpose obvious to yokels reading 8chan threads from their Boondoglenowhere, Lousiana homes... well, that points to mental health issues.

That's a remarkable assertion. Are there no right of center independent candidates?? You know, maybe that's not even relevant. I know that people are worried about "the other guy" winning. I just wish more people could see how manipulative not to mention corrosive that assertion is. There are more "independent" - meaning unregistered affiliations - among the voting public than ever. These are the people who just may be scouring the internet for viable candidates that don't sound like they just read Socialism for Dummies or a Capitalist's Guide to the Universe. Out of those people, a number are going to become voting nonparticipants, and that's okay. Will they "usher in" another dreaded 4 years of Trump?? Maybe, but their time will come, as more and more of these disenfranchised, sensible Americans become a force to contend with. Those willing to run on an independent ticket will find them well worth attention. These are the people that are going to catapult a third party into viability and reduce the two party system's archaic hold on the nation. Thanks!!

I guess I don't know what you're talking about but he probably misspoke. Description is not his forte. Thanks!!

Neither are facts. Nameless airline from a nameless city. Nothing you can check into. Promise of more information that never comes. Just like all the stuff he found out that you wouldn't believe about Obama's birth certificate. Trump does this over and over and the stooges eat it up. Go ahead and say he had intelligence. We all know that's a lie, but go ahead.
